Moonshine is the debut solo album by New Zealand hip hop artist Savage, released in 2005. The album includes a bonus track, "Locked Up Remix", by Senegalese singer Akon featuring Savage. In 2005, it reached number two in the New Zealand charts. [4]

Singles

The lead single "Swing" was a number-one hit in New Zealand for five consecutive weeks. [5] Later versions of the hit would reach number two in Australia [6] and number forty-five in the United States. [7]

The title track was a number-one hit for seven consecutive weeks in New Zealand and reached number nine in Australia. [8] "They Don't Know" reached number three in New Zealand and number twenty-six in Australia. [9]

Dawn Raid Entertainment is a record label based in Papatoetoe, South Auckland, New Zealand. It has signed many New Zealand hip hop and R&B artists such as Savage, Adeaze, Aaradhna, The Deceptikonz, Devolo and Ill Semantics. The founders of Dawn Raid Entertainment announced the closure of the recording label on 19 April 2007 due to liquidation.

The discography of Akon, a Senegalese American singer, songwriter, rapper and music producer, consists of five studio albums, four mixtapes, one extended play, thirty eight singles, eight promotional singles and ninety-two music videos. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Akon lived in Senegal with his family until the age of seven, when they returned to the United States to live in New Jersey. A three-year prison sentence inspired Akon to begin recording songs in his home studio: Universal Records signed him after becoming aware of his music, and his debut album Trouble was released in June 2004.
