Kansas State University (KSU), commonly shortened to Kansas State or K-State, is a public research university with its main campus in Manhattan, Kansas. It was opened as the state's land-grant college in 1863 and was the first public institution of higher learning in the state of Kansas. It had a record high enrollment of 24,766 students for the Fall 2014 semester.

UMKC is one of four campuses that collectively constitute the University of Missouri System, and one of only two with a medical school. Ford Hall is an all-female residence hall at Kansas State University and is named for Kenney L. Ford who was Secretary of the Kansas State Alumni Association from 1928-1961. It is located on the South East corner of the Derby Complex at Kansas State's Manhattan, Kansas campus south of Haymaker Hall and east of West Hall on Manhattan Avenue and Old Claflin Road. It has a residence of approximately 450 students, and all rooms are suites. After the end of the Spring semester, all students move out and some return to live there another year, while others move on to live off-campus or at fraternities and sororities.

Haymaker Hall is a co-ed residence hall at Kansas State University. It is located on the North-East corner of the Derby Complex at Kansas State's Manhattan, Kansas campus North of Ford Hall and East of Moore Hall on Manhattan Avenue and Claflin Road. It has a residence of approximately 525 students, and is renowned for its large concentration of agriculture and prehealth students. The fourth floor is the Agriculture Cluster study floor, while the seventh floor is the Pre-Health Cluster study floor. The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) is a public research university in St. Louis County, Missouri. Established in 1963, it is one of four universities in the University of Missouri System and its newest. UMSL's campus is located on the former grounds of the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis County, with an address in St. Louis city. The campus stretches into the municipalities of Bellerive, Bel-Nor and Normandy. Additional facilities are located at the former site of Marillac College and at Grand Center, both in St. Louis city.

Home to the Wildcat Training Table, The Derb’ (Derby) is a short walk from academic buildings on the East side of campus. T•H•E Bakery, a retail bakery specializing in made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies and birthday cakes, is located on the ground floor of Derby Dining.
Thyrsa Wealtheow Amos was the Dean of Women and Professor of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States, from 1919 to 1941. She was the founder and First President of the Pennsylvania Association of Deans of Women, the founder of the Society of Cwens, and the President of the National Association of Deans of Women (NADW). Her main area of interest was in student personnel, especially for women. She was also a member of the American Association of University Women.
