More Arriving is the second studio album by US-born, Indian-raised, London-based drummer, percussionist, composer and bandleader Sarathy Korwar. [1] [2]
More Arriving was released on 26 July 2019 through The Leaf Label. The album was recorded over three years in Mumbai and London and incorporates rappers from Mumbai and New Delhi with spoken word and Korwar's own Indian classical influence and jazz instrumentation. The album features the Jamaican-Indian rapper Delhi Sultanate, the London poet Zia Ahmed and the Abu Dhabi writer Deepak Unnikrishnan among others. “This is what Indian music sounds like to me right now", says Korwar in The Guardian. "That means incorporating multiple brown voices. If anyone has a problem with that, they should be questioning what they think Indian music should be.” [3] [4]
On the Metacritic website, which aggregates various media and press reviews and assigns a normalised rating out of 100, More Arriving received a score of 87. The Quietus called the album "confrontational" and "musically far-reaching" and praised its "bursts of reggae wooziness, gnarled free-jazz atonality, and electronic noise". Supreme Standard called the album "biting and acerbic, funny and furious, and [featuring] some of its creator’s finest, most accessible compositions to date" and made it Album Of The Week upon its release. [5] [6] [7] The Guardian praised the "Carnatic rhythms and lyrical dexterity" of the track "Mumbay", where "MC Mawali puns in Hindi on the colonial resonance of “Bombay” compared to the rightwing nationalism of “Mumbai”". Indian Ocean is an Indian rock band formed in New Delhi in 1990, who are widely recognized as the pioneers of the fusion rock genre in India. Susmit Sen, Asheem Chakravarty, Rahul Ram and Amit Kilam were band members until Chakravarty died on 25 December 2009, after which Tuheen Chakravorty and Himanshu Joshi were officially inducted into the band as successors. After the departure of Susmit Sen in 2013, Rahul Ram is the only founding member who appeared on the band's debut album Indian Ocean. Sanjeev Sharma has collaborated with them as lyricist on many albums.
Gems is a compilation album released by Aerosmith in 1988 under the label Columbia. It was the first compilation of studio material since 1980's Greatest Hits. Concentrating mainly on heavier material than the radio-friendly singles output on Greatest Hits, the album is noted for the inclusion of the 1978 studio version of "Chip Away The Stone" – previously released as a single from 1978's Live! Produced by Willie Mitchell and largely written by Peebles and her husband, Don Bryant, I Can't Stand the Rain included the R&B hits "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down" and "I Can't Stand the Rain", the latter of which reached no. 6 on the R&B chart and no. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1973.
Un Peu de l'Âme des Bandits is the second album by Belgian avant-rock band Aksak Maboul. It was recorded at Sunrise Studio in Kirchberg, Switzerland in February and August 1979, and released on LP in January 1980 on founding member Marc Hollander's Belgian independent record label, Crammed Discs. At the time the band had changed the spelling of their name to "Aqsak Maboul", and this is reflected on the album's record sleeve. When the album was re-issued on CD in 1995 the spelling of their name reverted to "Aksak Maboul".
