Morgan County is a county in the north central part of the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, its population was 123,421. The county seat is Decatur. The county was created by the Alabama Territorial legislature on February 6, 1818, from land acquired from the Cherokee people in the Treaty of Turkeytown, and was originally called Cotaco County. On June 14, 1821, it was renamed in honor of American Revolutionary War General Daniel Morgan of Virginia. It is a prohibition or dry county, although alcohol sales are allowed in the cities of Decatur, Hartselle, and Priceville. Morgan County is included in the Decatur, AL Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Huntsville-Decatur-Albertville, AL Combined Statistical Area. Albert P. Brewer Area Vocational and High School is part of the Morgan County School System. The school is in the foot hills of the Appalachian Mountains near Florette, Alabama. The grounds are approximately 80 acres. Its mascot is the Patriot, and its colors are red, white, and blue. Brewer is the largest high school in the Morgan County System and is classified as a 5A school by the Alabama High School Athletic Association. Brewer's biggest rivals in sports have traditionally been Hartselle, Arab and most recently Priceville.

The Celebration Arena is a 5,000-seat indoor arena located in Priceville, Alabama, near Decatur. It contains a 150-by-300-foot arena floor that can be used not only for sporting events as well as rodeos and horse shows, but also for trade shows, flea markets, and other special events, such as concerts.

State Route 36 (SR 36) is a 44.5-mile-long (71.6 km) east–west state highway in the northern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. The western terminus of the highway is at its intersection with SR 33 at Wren, an unincorporated community in Lawrence County. The eastern terminus of the highway is at its intersection with U.S. Route 231 (US 231) at Lacey’s Spring in Morgan County.
