Early life

Morgana Ignis was born on May 19, 1989, in Northridge, Los Angeles, California. Her father works in the music industry as a studio engineer and this inspired her to pursue creative venues and jobs. [2]

Career

She worked as a stop motion animator in shows like Robot Chicken and Moral Orel before studying acting and movement, which led to a career in performance as creatures sci-fi and horror films, as well a professional cosplayer in conventions. [3]

She starred as Severus Snape in the 2016 short fan film Severus Snape and the Marauders . She is also known for her work on the comedy horror show Stan Against Evil, where she plays multiple recurring characters. [2]

Ignis began working at the The Jim Henson Company after Kirk Thatcher brought her as the body performer in The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell for the goliath Edgar and later as a puppeteer on Earth to Ned portraying Ned. Ignis explains that her work in the show allowed her transition to be easier, given that she was inside of a giant rig and could dress at work in her preferred way. She went to the rehearsals first day in makeup and dress, which at the time was a smooth change in presentation because of her previous androgynous look, and asked to be introduced to guest stars as "Morgana" instead of her deadname when production began. After asking her producer, who discussed it with Brian Henson, Brian said that if she preferred to be introduced to the guests as Morgana, then she would also be called by that name at work. [3]

Starting in 2021 she has voiced the character Sallie May on the animated YouTube series Helluva Boss , while also being consulted on the character's representation by the production team. [3]

Ignis is part of the cast of Abigail Thorn's short film Dracula’s Ex-Girlfriend along with Brandon Rogers, who also stars in Helluva Boss. [4]

Personal life

Ignis is a transgender woman. [5]
