Morning 40 Federation is a rock band from the Ninth Ward of New Orleans which formed in 1998 and a took a six-year hiatus in 2008. The band cites as influences King Oliver, Tom Waits, and Jon Spencer. [2] They have also recorded as The New Orleans Hellhounds with Andre Williams.

The Morning 40 Federation performed a reunion show on October 31, 2009, at the Voodoo Experience music festival, [3] and they also played another reunion show over JazzFest weekend at One Eyed Jacks on April 24, 2010. The 40s played several shows during 2010 and 2011 in New Orleans, including shows at One Eyed Jacks on December 31, 2010, March 6, 2011, and April 30, 2011. They also played shows at d.b.a on May 20, 2010, and again on October 31, 2010. In 2012, they performed at the Krewe du Vieux Doo, on Sunday, February 4 after Walter "Wolfman" Washington's Afunkalypse at Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Press Street. [4] They played another show on October 26, 2012, at One Eyed Jacks. Morning 40 Federation played again at One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans on February 8, 2013, with the Gnarltones. They played two new songs at this show. On November 9th 2018 the band played the Oak Street PoBoy Festival at the Maple Leaf Bar in New Orleans. [5]

George Porter Jr. American funk bass guitarist and singer

George Porter Jr. is an American musician, best known as the bassist and singer of The Meters. Along with Art Neville, Porter formed the group in the mid 1960s and came to be recognized as one of the progenitors of funk. The Meters disbanded in 1977, but reformed in 1989. Today the original group still plays the occasional reunion but the Funky Meters, of which Porter and Neville are members, most prominently keeps the spirit alive.

Papa Grows Funk American funk band from 2000 to 2013

Papa Grows Funk is a funk band from New Orleans, Louisiana. The band was started by frontman John "Papa" Gros in early 2000, developing from a series of Monday night jam sessions helmed by Gros at New Orleans’ Maple Leaf Bar. Gros would invite some friends down to play, and the impromptu jams became a common bond for a handful of musicians, including guitarist June Yamagishi, sax player Jason Mingledorf, bassist Marc Pero and drummer Jeffery "Jellybean" Alexander, who now make up Papa Grows Funk.

Taylor Hollingsworth is a guitarist, singer-songwriter and artist from Birmingham, Alabama. Hollingsworth is also member of Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band and Dead Fingers, and has toured with Conor Oberst, Maria Taylor, The Dexateens, Monsieur Jeffrey Evans and his Southern Ace's and Verbena.

The Cry of Love Tour was a 1970 concert tour by American rock guitarist and singer Jimi Hendrix. It began on April 25, 1970, at the Forum in Inglewood, California, and ended on September 6, 1970, at the Love & Peace Festival in Fehmarn, Germany. The majority of the 37 shows were in the United States, with two each in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany, and one in England, where Hendrix was the final act at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970.

Joe's played the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival as a feature artist every year since 2001 and the French Quarter Festival every year since 1998. He has been nominated twice and won a 2000 New Orleans Big Easy Award in the Blues category. His trio with Johnny Sansone & John Fohl won a 2004 New Orleans Big Easy Award in the Blues category. His Hammond organ trio featuring Louisiana guitarist Walter Wolfman Washington won a 2009 New Orleans Big Easy Award in the Blues Category and a 2009 Offbeat Award for Best R&B/Funk Album. In April 2014, he was honored with a Piano Legacy Award, presented by the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and for being a "Master of Piano".

Flow Tribe is an American funk rock band based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The group contains six members who are all natives of New Orleans. The band was founded in 2004, and was featured on Episode 11 of MTV's The Real World: New Orleans, which aired September 8, 2010. Sahar Dika, a member of The Real World: New Orleans cast, sang three songs with the band at a concert at Tipitina's. Flow Tribe continues to be a festival favorite playing The Voodoo Music Experience several times including the massive Main Stage. Flow Tribe has played the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival 5 years running including the Acura Main Stage in 2014 and 2015. The band also plays several festivals all over the US and tours nationally. Flow Tribe, known for their high energy live show brings their traveling street parade with them to every concert. Relix Magazine called Flow Tribe “bizarrely irresistible.”

The Lightning Bolt Tour was a concert tour by the American rock band Pearl Jam to support its tenth album, Lightning Bolt. The tour started with two legs in North America, the first on the East Coast in October 2013, followed by a second leg on the West Coast the following month before finishing in their hometown of Seattle in December. Rolling Stone listed the tour as one of the 19 hottest tours to see in the fall of 2013.
