Mosby is a village and district in the Torridal valley in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village lies along the river Otra, between the villages of Aukland and Strai (to the south) and the municipal border with Vennesla to the north.

Mosby's population in 1999 was 1,950, [2] but since 2001 it has been considered to be a part of the urban area of Vennesla so separate village statistics are not tracked. [3]

Songdalen Former municipality in Vest-Agder, Norway

Songdalen is a former municipality in the old Vest-Agder county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1964 until 2020 when it was merged together with Søgne and Kristiansand municipalities to form a new, much larger Kristiansand municipality in what is now Agder county. It was located in the traditional district of Sørlandet, just outside of the city of Kristiansand. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Nodeland. Other villages in the municipality included Brennåsen, Finsland, Kilen, Nodelandsheia, and Volleberg. The Sørlandsbanen railway line ran through the municipality, stopping at Nodeland Station. The European route E39 highway also ran through the southern part of the municipality.

Norwegian County Road 405 (Fv405) is a Norwegian county road which runs between from the village of Engesland in Birkenes municipality in Agder county in the north to the junction with the Norwegian National Road 9 in the village of Mosby in Kristiansand municipality in the south. The road is 54.56 kilometres (33.90 mi) long. Prior to a 2010 government reform, the road was classified as a Norwegian national road.

Homstean or Slettebrotane is a village in Vennesla municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located along the Norwegian National Road 9, about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south of the village of Skarpengland, just about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) north of the border with Kristiansand municipality. The 0.35-square-kilometre (86-acre) village has a population (2016) of 345 which gives the village a population density of 986 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,550/sq mi).

Vennesla is the administrative centre of Vennesla municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located in the upper Torridal valley along the river Otra, about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) north of the city of Kristiansand. The village itself extends for about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) along both sides of the river. The Norwegian National Road 9 passes through Mosby, about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) south of Vennesla. The Sørlandsbanen railway line passes through Vennesla, stopping at Vennesla Station. The lake Venneslafjorden is located on the river Otra in the northern part of the village of Vennesla.
