Moses Ian Kirkconnell III OBE is a Caymanian politician and former Deputy Premier of the Cayman Islands. He is the member of Parliament of the Cayman Islands for Cayman Brac West and Little Cayman currently serving his fifth term. Kirkconnell is a member of the People's Progressive Movement party. He was re-elected in the 2021 Caymanian general election. [3]
Kirkconnell was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2024 New Year Honours for services to the Caymanian people,the tourism industry and district administration in the Cayman Islands. [4]
The CaymanIslands is a self-governing British Overseas Territory,and the largest by population. The 264-square-kilometre (102-square-mile) territory comprises the three islands of Grand Cayman,Cayman Brac and Little Cayman,which are located south of Cuba and north-east of Honduras,between Jamaica and Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. The capital city is George Town on Grand Cayman,which is the most populous of the three islands.
The Cayman Islands are a British overseas territory located in the Caribbean that have been under various governments since their discovery by Europeans. Christopher Columbus sighted the Cayman Islands on May 10,1503,and named them Las Tortugas after the numerous sea turtles seen swimming in the surrounding waters. Cayman Brac is an island that is part of the Cayman Islands. It lies in the Caribbean Sea about 145 km (90 mi) north-east of Grand Cayman and 8 km (5.0 mi) east of Little Cayman. It is about 19 km (12 mi) long,with an average width of 2 km (1.2 mi). Its terrain is the most prominent of the three Cayman Islands due to "The Bluff",a limestone outcrop that rises steadily along the length of the island up to 43 m (141 ft) above sea level at the eastern end. The island is named after this prominent feature,as "brac" is a Gaelic name for a bluff.

Tibbetts served as an elected member for the district of George Town,serving six terms in the Legislative Assembly of the Cayman Islands.
Sir Captain Charles Kirkconnell International Airport is an airport serving Cayman Brac,Cayman Islands. It is one of the hubs for Cayman Airways with flights to Owen Roberts International Airport on Grand Cayman,and Edward Bodden Airfield on Little Cayman. It is the only airport on Cayman Brac.

Annie Huldah Bodden OBE was a Caymanian civil servant,lawyer,and politician. She was the first woman to serve in the Legislative Assembly of the Cayman Islands,of which she was a member from 1961 to 1964 and from 1965 to 1984.
Same-sex marriage is currently not recognised in the Cayman Islands. The island's statutory law limits marriage to different-sex couples. A lawsuit with the Grand Court successfully challenged this ban in March 2019;however,the Court of Appeal overturned the ruling in November 2019. Same-sex civil partnerships are legal following the enactment of the Civil Partnership Law,2020 on 4 September 2020.
Olive Wright Miller OBE was a British missionary,journalist and philanthropist. Known as "Cayman's own Mother Teresa",she was the Cayman Islands' first paid journalist and established its first retirement home.
