Mostofa Anwar was a Bangladeshi director who made films such as Abujh Hridoy , Kajal Lata , Ankhi Milan , Kashem Malar Prem, "Pushpamala", "Samarpan", "Banglar Ma", Asroy, and Fashi. He was born in Jamalpur District and died on 12 May 2015, leaving two sons and a daughter. Anwar worked with actors like Razzaq, Alamgir, Zafor Iqbal, Suchorita, Ilias Kanchan and Bobita. [1]

Several playback songs used in his films i.e. Tumi Amar Jiban (Abujh Hridoy), Amar Garur Garitey Bou Sajiye (Ankhi Milon), and Ei Raat Dakey Oi Chand Dakey Ei Tomay Amay (Kajol Lata) proved to be time-tested. He started his career by joining Pakistan Air Force (PAF) but soon left as he wanted to build his career in film industry. He was the assistant filmmaker of Zahir Raihan, later emerged with Pherari. After his death Ilias Kanchan said, "the country’s film industry failed to recognize his talent," his longtime assistant Director Bazlur Rahman said, "he lived in self-imposed obscurity for many years and died silently." Abujh Hridoy

Abujh Hridoy (English: Freaky Mind) (Bengali : অবুঝ হৃদয়) is a 1989 Bangladeshi film starring Zafor Iqbal, Bobita and Champa opposite him.

The film depicts a love triangle of two women and a man. Both the women (Bobita and Champa) love the same man (Zafar Iqbal) and they are best friends also. So, they try to sacrifice their love for each other. But the man finally chooses Bobita. The film contains the song "Dujon Dujonar Koto Je Apon" which copies the "La La La" tune from the 1985 song "Saagar Kinare" from Saagar film, composed by Rahul Dev Burman.

Razzak won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor five times for his roles in the films Ki Je Kori (1976), Ashikkhito (1978), Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo (1982), Chandranath (1984) and Jogajog (1988). He was awarded the Independence Day Award in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh. He acted more than 300 Bengali and Urdu film, also directed 16 film. He is considered one of the greatest actors in Bangladesh movie industry.

The cinema of Bangladesh, better known as Dhallywood, is the Bengali-language film industry based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has often been a significant film industry since the early 1970s. The dominant style of Bangladeshi cinema is melodramatic cinema, which developed from 1947 to 1990 and characterizes most films to this day. Cinema was introduced in Bangladesh in 1898 by the Bradford Bioscope Company, credited to have arranged the first film release in Bangladesh. Between 1913 and 1914, the first production company, Picture House, was opened. A 1928 short silent film titled Sukumari was the first Bengali-produced film in the region. The first full-length film, The Last Kiss, was released in 1931. Following the separation of Bangladesh from Pakistan, Dhaka became the center of the Bangladeshi film industry, and has generated the majority share of revenue, production and audiences for Dhallywood films. The Face and the Mask, the first Bengali-language full-length feature film of Bangladesh was produced in 1956. During the 1970s, many Dhallywood films were inspired by Indian films, with some of the films being unofficial remakes of those films. The industry continued to grow, and many successful Bangladeshi films were produced throughout the 1970s, 1980s and the first half of the 1990s.

Gehri Chot - Urf: Durdesh is an Indo-Canadian and Bangladeshi co-production film released in 1983. It is directed by Ambrish Sangal and Ehtesham and stars Indian actors Shashi Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, Raj Babbar and Parveen Babi, with Pakistani actor Nadeem Baig and Bangladeshi actress Bobita in supporting roles. This was both Nadeem and Bobita's only Hindi film appearance. Veteran actor David Abraham also appears in his last film role, filmed shortly before his death in 1981. It was shot on location in Toronto, Canada.

Gazi Mazharul Anwar is a Bangladeshi film director, producer, lyricist, screenwriter and music director. He earned the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyricist a record six times for the films Tit for Tat (1992), Ajante (1996), Churiwala (2001), Lal Dariya (2002), Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti (2003) and Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe (2016). Abu Nur Muhammad Ehteshamul Haq, known as Captain Ehtesham, was a Bangladeshi and Pakistani film director. On his death in 2002 he was described as a pioneer of the film industry in Dhaka, and one of Bangladesh's leading directors.
