Archbishop Mitty High School affectionately known as Mitty by it's staff, students and alumni is a private Catholic high school located in San Jose, California, United States. The school is named for John Joseph Mitty, the fourth Archbishop of San Francisco. It is one of many Catholic high school in the Santa Clara Valley. It is the only Diocesan high schools in Santa Clara. Construction of the school began in 1963, and when completed, the campus occupied its present 24 acres (9.7 ha).

Andrew Charles Benes is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), most prominently as a member of the San Diego Padres, who selected Benes as the first overall pick in the 1988 MLB draft. With the Padres, he was named to the National League (NL) All-Star team in 1993 and led the league in strikeouts in 1994. He also played for the Seattle Mariners, St. Louis Cardinals, and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Thomas Loren Barrett is an American former second baseman who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies (1988–1989) and Boston Red Sox (1992). He was a switch-hitter and threw right-handed. In a three-season career, Barrett posted a .202 batting average with nine runs and four RBI in 54 games played.

The Midwest League Top MLB Prospect Award is an annual award given to the best rookie player in Minor League Baseball's Midwest League based on their regular-season performance as voted on by league managers. League broadcasters, Minor League Baseball executives, and members of the media have previously voted as well. Though the league was established in 1947, the award was not created until 1956 as the Prospect of the Year Award. After the cancellation of the 2020 season, the league was known as the High-A Central in 2021 before reverting to the Midwest League name in 2022. The Top MLB Prospect Award began to be issued instead of the Prospect of the Year Award in 2021.
