Mourine Osoru

Mourine Osoru (born 3 November 1989) is a Ugandan accountant and legislator who as of February 2022 serves as the elected woman representative for Arua City in Uganda's eleventh parliament. [1] [2] [3] She held the same position in Uganda's tenth parliament [4] Politically, she is affiliated to the affiliated to the National Resistance Movement under whose ticket she contested in the 2016 general election, achieving victory over Christine Bako Abia. Background and education

Osoru was born in Arua on 3 November 1989 to Sabua Ajio and Loyce Adiru. [6] Osoru has a degree in Accounting and Finance obtained from the University of East London in 2014. Prior to that she attended Kisubi High School for her O Levels (2004–2008) and Forest Hill College, Mukono for her A Levels (2009–2010). Some sources list her as having attended primary school at St. Jude Nursery and Primary School [4] while others show Kirinya Parents Primary School. [6] [4]

Career

Prior to becoming a legislator in 2016, Osoru was an accountant in 2010 then Assistant Supervisor at Ajio Sabua Enterprises ( 2014–2015). [4]

In Uganda's 10th Parliament, she is a member of the Committees on Human rights as well as Gender, Labour and Social Development. [4]

In 2017, Osoru was elected President of the Forum of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU). [7] [8] [9] [10]

Osoru was kidnapped in 2016. [11]

Lucy Akello is a Ugandan social worker and politician, who served as the member of parliament for the Amuru District Women's Constituency in the 10th Parliament. She was elected back to the eleventh Parliament representing Amuru District under FDC political party. She is a member of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), and she serves as the shadow minister for labour, gender and social development.

She lost to Hellen Auma Wandera in the 2021-2026 Parliamentary Elections.

Pamela Nasiyo Kamugo is a Ugandan social worker and legislator. As of April 2020, she has served as the elected woman member of parliament for Budaka district in the tenth Parliament of Uganda and eleventh Parliament of Uganda. She is affiliated with the National Resistance Movement, the ruling party of Uganda led by Yoweri Museveni, the country's president

Aisha Sekindi is a Ugandan educator and legislator. As of February 2022, she serves as Uganda's Minister of State for Water and the woman representative for Kalungu district in Uganda's eleventh parliament. She held the same position in Uganda's tenth parliament. Politically, she is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement under whose ticket she contested in the 2016 general election, achieving victory over Aisha Naluyati Waligo.

Sarah Nambozo Wekomba is a Ugandan legislator and social worker. As of May 2020, she serves as the elected woman representative for Bulambuli District Uganda's tenth parliament. Politically, she contested as an independent candidate in the 2016 general election, achieving victory over Irene Muloni.

JanetGrace Akech Okori-Moe is a Ugandan teacher and legislator. As of May 2020, she serves as the elected woman representative for Abim District in Uganda's tenth parliament. Politically, she is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement under whose ticket she contested in the 2016 general election. in the 2021 Uganda general elections, She retained her seat as woman mp for Abim district.

Florence Nambozo Wamala is a Ugandan politician and member of the parliament. She was elected as a woman Member of Parliament to represent Sironko district in 2016 Uganda general elections and was re-elected for the same post in the 2021 Uganda general elections.

Ndamira Catherine Atwikiire is an Ugandan accountant, legislator and business woman. She was re-elected into the 11th parliament of Uganda as a district woman representative for Kabale District which is the Kigezi sub-region under the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) political party. She was a member of Public Accounts Committee and also a member of committee on Health in the 10th parliament of Uganda. She is also a member of the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Social Protection (UPFSP). Peace Kusasira also referred to as Kusasira Peace Kanyesigye Mubiru is a female Ugandan politician and Social Worker. She is the district woman representative of Mukono District under the National Resistance Movement political party. She served as the MP in the tenth, and ninth parliament and lost in the 2021–2026 elections. In the ninth parliament, Peace Kusasira, took the seat from outgoing MP, Margaret Nalugo.

Mwijukye Francis is a Ugandan politician and legislator, representing Buhweju County, in the Parliament of Uganda.

Esther Opoti Dhugira was a Ugandan legislator and Woman Member of Parliament for Nebbi District in Uganda's 7th Parliament. In Uganda's Constituent Assembly between 1994 and 1995, she represented Okoro County in Nebbi. Dhugira alongside Winnie Byanyima and others was one of the founders of Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE)

Bako Christine Abia is a Ugandan politician and she was the Arua District woman Member of Parliament in the eighth and ninth Parliament of Uganda. She belongs to the Forum for Democratic Change political party.

Brenda Nabukenya is a Ugandan politician and legislator. She represents the people of Luwero district as district woman representative for Luwero district in the parliament of Uganda. She subscribes to the National Unity Platform party on whose ticket she was voted into parliament in the 2021 Uganda general elections. National Unity platform is headed by Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi wine.
