Mr. Airplane Man is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts.
Margaret Garrett and Tara McManus met each other when they were both 10 years old. [1] The two became childhood friends, but later separated, attending separate colleges. [1] After beginning to play music together, the duo experimented with other band members, but preferred playing as a twosome. [1] The band was formed under advice from Morphine frontman Mark Sandman. [2]
Mr. Airplane Man released their first album Red Lite in 2001. [3] The album drew comparisons to The White Stripes and Howlin' Wolf. [4] [3]
They released their second album in 2002 titled Moanin'. [5] This was followed up with a third album in 2004 titled C'mon DJ. [6]
The duo later were asked to open for Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The White Stripes and The Strokes. [2] The duo released an EP in 2012 titled Shakin' Around. [7]
After their third album, the duo went on hiatus, citing lack of inspiration. After being asked to play a festival in Germany, the pair decided to reunite. [2]
The duo eventually released The Lost Tapes in December 2014, a collection of unreleased recordings from 1999 [8] and a self-titled full length album originally recorded with Mark Sandman in 1998. [4]
In 2016, the band relocated to Los Angeles to pursue musical work in the film and television industry. [9] Their music has appeared in episodes of The L Word and the film Crazy Eyes, amongst others. [10]

Treat Her Right was an American rock group, formed in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, in 1985. The band originally featured Mark Sandman on "low guitar," Billy Conway on cocktail drum, David Champagne on guitar, and Jim Fitting on harmonica. Singing and songwriting duties were shared by all but Conway. Champagne and Fitting reformed the band in 2009 with new members Steve Mayone and Billy Beard.

Modey Lemon is an American garage rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The group formed in Pittsburgh's South Oakland neighborhood in 1999 as an informal side project of Dean Swagger, a rock trio that had spent the previous year mainly performing in basements to college party crowds. Mark Sandman was an American singer, songwriter, musical instrument inventor, multi-instrumentalist and comic writer. Sandman possessed a distinctive, deep bass-baritone voice and a mysterious demeanour. He was an indie rock icon and longtime fixture in the Boston/Cambridge music scene, best known as the lead singer and slide bass player of the band Morphine. Sandman was also a member of the blues-rock band Treat Her Right and founder of Hi-n-Dry, a recording studio and independent record label.
Victor "Vic" Ruggiero, is a musician, songwriter and producer from New York City who has played in reggae, blues, ska and rocksteady bands since the early 1990s, including The Slackers, Stubborn All-Stars, SKAndalous All Stars, Crazy Baldhead and The Silencers.
