Mohammad Mrittunjoy Chowdhury (born 28 June 2001) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. [1] [2] Chowdhury was part of Bangladesh's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, [3] [4] although he was later ruled out of the tournament with an injury. [5] Due to his injury, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) sent Chowdhury to Australia for surgery. [6] [7]

Career

In October 2020, Chowdhury was named in the Mahmudullah XI squad for the 2020–21 BCB President's Cup. [8] He made his Twenty20 debut on 31 May 2021, for Shinepukur Cricket Club in the 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League. [9] He made his first-class debut on 31 October 2021, for Khulna Division in the 2021–22 National Cricket League. [10] He made his List A debut on 9 January 2022, for Central Zone in the 2021–22 Bangladesh Cricket League One Day tournament. [11]

He was selected by the Chattogram Challengers during the players' draft for the 2021–22 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). On 29 January 2022, He made his BPL debut against the Sylhet Sunrisers, taking a hat-trick in a winning cause and was named the player of the match. [12]

In April 2023, he earned his maiden call-up to the Bangladesh cricket team for their One Day International (ODI) series against Ireland. [13] He made his ODI debut in the third ODI of the series, on 14 May 2023. [14]

He made his T20I debut against India in Asian Games semifinal on 06 October 2023.

The 2013–14 season in Bangladesh was the fourteenth in which first-class cricket was played at the domestic level. The main domestic competitions were the National Cricket League (NCL), the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) and the Dhaka Premier League. The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) was cancelled. Internationally, there were tours by New Zealand and Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh hosted both the 2014 Asia Cup and 2014 ICC World Twenty20 tournaments. The season was disrupted by civil and political disturbances caused by issues arising from the 2014 Bangladeshi general election.

The Bangladesh Premier League 2019, also known as BPL Season 6 or UCB BPL 2019 Powered by TVS, was the sixth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top level professional Twenty20 cricket franchise league in Bangladesh. The competition was organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), featuring seven teams from seven cities. Teams are restricted to having four overseas players per side, instead of five in the previous edition of the tournament. Rangpur Riders were the defending champions.

The Bangladesh Premier League 2022, also known as BPL Season 8 or Bangabandhu BPL 2022 presented by BBS Cables and powered by Walton, was the eighth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top-level professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh, organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The season was scheduled to start from March 2021. However, the tournament was postponed and rescheduled to be held from 21 January to 18 February 2022.

The 2021 Bangladeshi cricket season is taking place from 20 January to 31 December 2021. A total of 29 international matches, including 4 Test, 9 One Day International and 16 Twenty20 International matches are scheduled to take place in Bangladesh in 2021. 72 first-class, 5 List A and 54 Twenty20 matches are also being held in this season. All the international matches will form part of the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship, 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship and the preparation for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
