Gameplay

The game is set on a procedurally generated island, where the player has to collect resources, obtain food, craft tools and build a base in preparation for the night, when waves of enemies spawn. [4] [5] More and stronger enemies and bosses are encountered the longer the player survives. Killing monsters grants coins, which can be used to open loot chests containing powerups. [5] [6] Progress is reset upon death. [6] The game features both cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. [7]

The gameplay was inspired by roguelike and survival games like Risk of Rain and Minecraft . [8] [9]

Reception

Alec Padua of WhatIfGaming praised the gameplay and visuals. [8] Jonathan Bolding of PC Gamer wrote that it was "not awful". [7] Ali Jones of GamesRadar+ wrote that "Not only was Muck genuinely good, it was also an interesting insight into game development, thanks to Sooman's video about the process of making the game." [3]
