Muhingo Nzangi Butondo is a Congolese politician who is currently serving as the Congolese Minister of Rural Development since May 2024 and as a member of the National Assembly for Goma since 2024. He had previously served as the Minister of Higher Education from 2021 to 2024,and as deputy for Butembo from 2012 to 2024.[ citation needed ]
Nzangi was born in Kyavinyonge,on the shore of Lake Edward in Beni Territory,North Kivu,Democratic Republic of the Congo on November 11,1980. [1] [2] Nzangi was elected as a provincial deputy for Lubero Territory in North Kivu in 2006. [3] In August 2013,he was arrested by the ANR and convicted by the Supreme Court on the charges of "undermining state security" and "insulting the head of state." [4]
Nzangi was elected to the National Assembly in 2011 for the constituency of Butembo during the 2011 legislative elections. He was re-elected in 2018 under the Together for the Republic party. [1] Nzangi was part of TFR until July 2022 when he created his own party Volunteer Action for Patriotic Relief,though the VAPR was still close to TFR founder Moise Katumbi. [5] On April 12,2021,Nzangi was appointed as the Minister of Higher Education,and served in the first and second Lukonde cabinets. [5]
Nzangi sided with Katumbi when the latter announced his intention to run for the 2023 presidential election,although many TFR ministers left the cabinet. [6] In January 2024,Nzangi was elected as deputy for the city of Goma. On May 29,2024,Nzangi was appointed as the Minister of Rural Development. [7]
Goma is the capital and largest city of the North Kivu Province in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). It is located on the northern shore of Lake Kivu,next to the Rwandan city of Gisenyi. It shares its borders with Bukumu Chiefdom to the north,Rwanda to the east,Masisi Territory to the west,and is flanked by Lake Kivu to the south. The city lies in the Albertine Rift,the western branch of the East African Rift System,and is only 13–18 km (8.1–11.2 mi) south of the active Nyiragongo Volcano. With an approximate area of 75.72 square kilometers,the city has an estimated population of nearly 2 million people according to the 2022 census,while the 1984 estimate placed the number at 80,000.

He is the founder of the Alliance pour la République et la Conscience Nationale political party (ARCN) and a member of the Union for the Congolese Nation. Roger Mpanano Ntamwenge was a Congolese politician,founding member of the Union for the Congolese Nation and former Member of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Sama Lukonde was appointed on 15 February 2021. He announced his first cabinet on 12 April 2021. On 24 March 2023,a second cabinet was announced.

She is a deputy in the National Assembly,representing Wamba Territory as a member of the People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy (PPRD). From 2012 to 2014 she was Minister of Gender,Family and Children in the government of Joseph Kabila.
General elections were held in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on 20 December 2023. Combined elections were held for the President,484 of the 500 members of the National Assembly,700 of the 716 elected members of the 26 provincial assemblies,and for the first time under the new constitution,951 members of a scaled down number of commune (municipal) councils. On election day,the Congolese government extended voting to 21 December for polling stations that had not opened on 20 December. Agence France-Presse reported that some polling stations would open as late as 24 December.
In late March 2022,the March 23 Movement (M23),supported by Rwanda,launched an offensive in North Kivu against the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) and MONUSCO. The fighting displaced hundreds of thousands of civilians and caused renewed tensions between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda.
The Kishishe massacre occurred from November 29 to December 1,2022,in the North Kivu village of Kishishe in the Rutshuru Territory in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The March 23 Movement,a predominantly Tutsi armed group,summarily killed at least 131 civilians in Kishishe following clashes with local militias,according to a preliminary United Nations investigation. At the same time,the Kinshasa authorities had previously reported approximately 300 fatalities. The attack also resulted in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people who were forced to flee to other locations such as Kanyabayonga,Kibirizi,Kashala,Kirima,Nyanzale,Kashalira,Bambu,and Kitchanga. Some victims also sought refuge in neighboring countries due to the ongoing violence and instability in the region.
Kinyandonyi is a village in the Rutshuru Territory of the North Kivu Province,Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kinyandonyi is situated 10 km east of the city of Kiwanja in Bukoma groupement,in the Bwisha Chiefdom and 85 km north of the capital of the province Goma. The region is inhabited by the Hunde people as well as some remaining autochthonous populations of African Pygmies,including the Twa people and the Mbuti people. In addition to the Hunde,Twa,and Mbuti,there are other ethnic groups,including the Nyanga,Lega,Kumu,Hutu and Tutsi.
The UniversitéPédagogique Nationale,formerly named the Institut Pédagogique National,colloquially referred to by its acronym UPN,is a public institution of higher education dedicated to training teachers,enhancing their skills,and promoting studies and research in applied pedagogy. Between January 24 and 26,2023,M23 rebels and Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) soldiers fought over the city of Kitshanga. The battle was part of the renewed M23 offensive,and ended on January 26 with M23 forces capturing the city. Civilians accused both M23 and FARDC-aligned militias of war crimes during and after the battle.
