Mulebone is an American blues based duo of roots music specialist singer/guitarist Hugh Pool and multi-instrumentalist John Ragusa.
The combo originally formed in 1996 to play at the Brotherhood of Thieves on Nantucket Island. [1]
Their original cassette release, Mulebone was recorded on ADAT in Hugh's apartment in 1996 and sold several hundred copies on their repeated visits to Nantucket.
The group continued to perform, slowly expanding their area of operation and repertoire. In 1998 the duo took half the music that was on the original cassette, recorded 5 new songs and put out a CD also entitled Mulebone. This one featuring their signature laughing donkey on the cover.
In 2000 the group got noticed by Alan Pepper, owner of the New York City venue, The Bottom Line, and a run of shows at the venue began. Over the next 2 years Mulebone was twice featured on The Downtown Messiah, [2] [3] [4] Commander Cody, The Bob's, Lena Katroukis, Al Stewart, and Al Kooper and the ReKooperators.
They were featured, along with Sweet Honey in the Rock, Maria Muldaur and David Grisman on the award winning Ellipsis Arts compilation album, American Lullaby. [5] Their own album Mulebone, was a collection of traditionals, and charted in the Top 100 on the "Americana Roots Chart" for National radio airplay, as reported by the Album Network.[ citation needed ]

Play-N-Skillz are a Latin/American record production / Dj group duo from Dallas, Texas, consisting of brothers Juan "Play" Salinas and Oscar "Skillz" Salinas. Their production has won several Grammys including the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 2007 for their production on the single "Ridin'" by Chamillionaire and Krayzie Bone, and the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III (2008), which included their production on the single "Got Money". By 2011, the duo brought their music to the EDM scene, and crossed paths with David Guetta, who also saw a similar need. Together, they co-wrote and arranged his music, leading to the hit “Where Them Girls At” featuring Nicki Minaj and Flo Rida. In 2014 Play-N-Skillz connected with Redfoo of the group LMFAO and went on tour with him in Mexico, Australia, Dubai, and South America while working on Redfoo's solo album where they wrote and produced the multi-platinum Global hit "New Thang". The duo also releases music through their record deal with Sony Latin Music where they have had a partnership since 2016. In 2019, Play-N-Skillz produced and co-wrote the #1 WORLDWIDE Diamond Single "Con Calma" for Daddy Yankee. A remix version featuring American singer Katy Perry was released on April 19, 2019. The brothers have also expanded there brand into many other business ventures including being named the Creative Directors at CTM latin music publishing while also gaining a position of ownership in the company. The duo also built their top of the line new Music studio in 2020 in Miami,Florida where they now operate their many partnerships from.

C86 is a cassette compilation released by the British music magazine NME in 1986, featuring new bands licensed from British independent record labels of the time. As a term, C86 quickly evolved into shorthand for a guitar-based musical genre characterized by jangling guitars and melodic power pop song structures, although other musical styles were represented on the tape. In its time, it became a pejorative term for its associations with so-called "shambling" and underachievement. The C86 scene is now recognized as a pivotal moment for independent music in the UK, as was recognized in the subtitle of the compilation's 2006 CD issue: CD86: 48 Tracks from the Birth of Indie Pop. 2014 saw the original compilation reissued in a 3CD expanded edition from Cherry Red Records; the 2014 box-set came with an 11,500-word book of sleevenotes by one of the tape's original curators, former NME journalist Neil Taylor.
