The Indore Duronto Express is a superfast express train of the Indian Railways connecting Mumbai Central (BCT) to Indore (INDB). It is currently being operated with 12227 / 12228 train numbers.

Duronto Express Express train in India

Duronto Express is a category of long-distance non stop source to destination trains run by the Indian Railways. Initially these trains did not have any ticketing stops between the origin and the destination, but since January 2016 it is possible to book tickets from those technical stops. "Duronto" means "Non-stop" in Bangla. These trains' coaches have characteristic yellow-green livery which contains a by-meaning signature which are a field full of flower and a river flowing over it, 2nd meaning is a boy is running on the fields which signifies the meaning of Duronto. Duronto Express services connect the several metros and major state capitals of India.

It operates as train number 12961 from Mumbai Central to Indore and as train number 12962 in the reverse direction.

This train had its inaugural run on 28 January 2011. It was & still is a 2 days a week service. It is a fully AC train & uses LHB rakes.

Traction

Dual traction WCAM 2/2P locos would haul the train between Mumbai Central & Vadodara Junction after which a Vadodara based WAP 4 locomotive would take over until Ratlam Junction following which a Ratlam based WDM 2 or WDM 3A locomotive would take over.
