Muriuki Charles Njagagua is a Kenyan lawyer and politician who was a member of the 11th parliament of Kenya for Mbeere North Constituency on the ticket of Alliance Party of Kenya (APK). [1] [2]

Education and career

Njagagua, born in Mbeere, Embu County, studied law at the University of Nairobi from 1992 to 1996. He is managing partner of Muriuki Nyagagua & Associates law firm. He was elected to the lower house of Kenyan parliament on the ticket of APK in 2013 after defeating incumbent MP Justin Muturi of The National Alliance. Njagagua served on the house committee on Education, Research and Technology. According to Mzalendo Trust, he spoke 252 times in the parliament from 2013 to 2016. [3] Njagagua was defeated in the 2017 election by Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku. In 2022, Njagagua announced he would give Sh2,000 to every woman who gives birth to increase the population of Mbeere North Constituency following the announcement by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to scrap the constituency if the population failed to grow from its current 133,000 to over 170,000 minimum population required to be a constituency. It hosted Mbeere county council and was also headquarters of Siakago division of Mbeere District. In 1999, Siakago division had a population of 34,330, of whom 2,312 were classified urban Siakago is located 25 kilometres east of Embu town. The Kiangombe mountain lies just east of Siakago.

Mbeere North Constituency is an electoral constituency in Embu County, Kenya. It was formerly known as Siakago Constituency, one of two constituencies of the former Mbeere District. It has five wards, all of which elected councillors for the Mbeere County Council.

Kanyuambora is an administrative division in the Mbeere sub-district of Embu County, Eastern Kenya, which is commonly referred to as a "location". It lies on Latitude: 0° -29' 0 N, Longitude: 37° 43' 0 E and is about 90 miles North East of Nairobi. Kanyuambora is one of the eight locations that form Siakago constituency. It was formerly part of the now defunct Mbeere District.

The Mbeere or Ambeere people are a Bantu ethnic group inhabiting the former Mbeere District in the now-defunct Eastern Province of Kenya. According to the 2019 Kenya National census, there are 195,250 Mbeere who inhabit an area of 2,093 km². They speak Kīmbeere language, a dialect of Embu, which is very similar to the languages spoken by their neighbours, the Kamba, Embu and Kikuyu.

Peter Njeru Ndwiga is a Kenyan politician. He is the former Senator for Embu County and the chairman of the Agriculture and Livestock Committee of the Senate. He was minister for the Co-operative Development and Marketing in Kenya and a former member of parliament for the Manyatta Constituency and Runyenjes Constituency. He was member of parliament for the Manyatta Constituency which is now in Embu County on Party of National Unity ticket between 2002 and 2007. Prior to this, he was the member of parliament for Runyenjes Constituency between 1992 and 1997 and then the member of parliament for the newly created Manyatta Constituency between 1998 and 2001.

Eric Muchangi Njiru Karemba is a Kenyan politician and a businessman, and currently the Member of Parliament (MNA) for Runyenjes Constituency, serving a second term and also the Chairman of the Labour and Social Affairs committee. Runyenjes is in Embu County in Eastern part of Kenya. Karemba belongs to the United Democratic Alliance party under the Kenya Kwanza alliance led by the current and the fifth president of Kenya Dr William Ruto. He is a graduate of Kenyatta university with a Bachelors of Education and was a student leader at the same university. Karemba made history by becoming the first Akorino MP in the history of Kenya. Karemba currently serves as the Chairman of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.

John Muchiri is a Kenyan politician and a member of the 11th parliament of Kenya for Manyatta Constituency, Embu County on the ticket of The National Alliance and with support of Jubilee Coalition. Elected in 2013, Muchiri served on the house committee on Public Investment and Departmental Committee on Health. According to Mzalendo Trust, Muchiri is one of the “lazy MPs” in the parliament haven spoken only nine times during his term in the lowerhouse.
