Justin Bedan Njoka Muturi (born 28 April 1956) is a former Attorney General of Kenya who served as the seventh Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya from 2013 to 2022. He is the first speaker to serve following the reestablishment of a bicameral Parliament by the 2010 Constitution. On 28 March 2013,Muturi won the speakership after a second round of voting by members of the National Assembly,beating former speaker Kenneth Marende by a 219–129 margin. He is currently serving as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development under the July 2024 re-constituted Cabinet of H.E. President William Ruto
Muturi was first elected as a member of the Kenya African National Union (KANU) to represent Siakago Constituency in Parliament following a 1999 byelection which was held after the death of Silas Ita who was the Mp. He won reelection in 2002 and served as opposition chief whip and chair of the Public Investment Committee during the 10th Parliament. He vied for re-election in 2007,but was defeated by Lenny Kivuti with a small margin in a heavily contented election.
Muturi was born in Kanyuambora in Mbeere North. After completing primary schooling,he joined Kangaru Boys High School and later University of Nairobi in 1978 to study law. He graduated with a Law degree in 1981. He then went to Kenya School of Law for a Post Graduate diploma in Law and was admitted as an advocate of the High court of Kenya in 1982.
In 2013,Muturi ran for the Mbeere North parliamentary seat as a member of The National Alliance,but lost to Muriuki Njagagua who was running on APK party.
He served as a member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on the constitutional review from 1999 to 2004. He was elected KANU national organising secretary in Nov 2008 and was the Party of National Unity constitution committee chairman during the national constitutional talks from 2008 to 2010. In April 2011,he was appointed the chairman of the Centre for Multiparty Democracy,a civil society group that deals with democracy issues in multi-party politics.
Muturi was formerly a judiciary employee serving as a principal magistrate between 1982 and 1997 before retiring from judicial service. He also served as the chairman of the Judges and Magistrates Association during the time. He was a member of the Africa Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption,Global Organisation of Parliamentarians Against Corruption and the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank.
In 1997,while serving as a magistrate in Nairobi,Muturi was accused of soliciting a bribe to rule in favour of Masaba Hospital founder Geoffrey Joel Momanyi and his wife Fellgona Akothe Momanyi in a case before him. Muturi was acquitted but did not resume his duties as a magistrate. [2]

Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is a Kenyan politician who was the tenth Vice-President of Kenya from 2008 to 2013. Musyoka served in the government under the late President Daniel arap Moi as the Secretary of Kenya African National Union party (1980-1988),Assistant Minister for Works (1986-1988),Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly (1988-1992),Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1993 until 1998,Minister of Education (1998-2001);and subsequently,under the late President Mwai Kibaki,he was Minister of Foreign Affairs again from 2003 to 2004,then Minister of the Environment from 2004 to 2005. He was an unsuccessful candidate in the 2007 presidential election,after which he was appointed vice-president by Kibaki in January 2008.
Amos Wako is a former Attorney General of Kenya and the first senator for Busia County from 2013 to 2022. Wako won the senatorial seat after defeating former minister of finance Chris Okemo. He won the senator seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) being led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Wako currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Constitutional Experts for Drafting the EAC Political Federation Constitution,the committee drafting the constitution for the East African Confederation.

Kenneth Otiato Marende is the former Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya's 10th Parliament. He was elected Speaker on January 15,2008. Prior to his election as Speaker,Hon. Marende served as the MP for Emuhaya constituency,from 2002 to 2007. Marende was a candidate for Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya's 13th Parliament,but was defeated by former Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula who garnered 215 votes ahead of Marende who managed 130.

Gideon Musyoka Ndambuki is a Kenyan politician. He has been the Kaiti Constituency MP since 1997 when the constituency was established,and was a minister between 1998 and 2002. At the 1997 and 2002 elections he won the seat representing the KANU party,but represented the Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya at the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. He unsuccessfully vied for the Makueni County Senate seat during Wiper Democratic Party nominations in the run-up to the 2013 General Elections in Kenya. Educated in the US,he was an employee of the Commercial Bank of Africa in the 1980s,and more controversially,Managing Director of Trade Bank between 1986 and its collapse in 1993.

Samuel Losuron Poghisio is a Kenyan politician who served as the Majority Leader of the Kenyan Senate. He belongs to the Kenya African National Union - KANU and was previously a member of the United Republican Party - URP and the Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya and was elected to represent the Kacheliba Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election.
Aden Keynan Wehliye is a Member of the National Assembly of Kenya. He served Wajir West constituency from 1997 to 2002 and 2007 to 2013. He then moved to Eldas constituency which was carved from Wajir West. Keynan served as the MP of Eldas in the 11th and 12th parliaments. He represented the Orange Democratic Movement until 2017 when he switched to the Jubilee Party. Keynan was re-elected on the Jubilee ticket in the 2022 elections. Ekwee David Ethuro is a Kenyan politician. Currently he is the Chairperson of the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB). He was elected as the first Speaker of the modern Kenyan Senate on 28 March 2013. From 1998 to 2013 he served as a Member of Parliament representing Turkana Central. He also served as the Assistant Minister for Planning and National Development from 1998 to 2002 under the government of President Daniel arap Moi. He was re-elected as Member of Parliament for Turkana Central in the 2007 general elections and steered the proceedings of the 10th Parliament in the position of acting Speaker of the House whenever the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker were absent.
The 11th Parliament of Kenya was the meeting of the legislative branch of the national government of Kenya,which began on 28 March 2013. It is the first Parliament to incorporate the structural reforms laid out in the 2010 Constitution. The constitution re-established the Senate and increased the size of the National Assembly from 224 seats to 349 seats.
Johnson Arthur Sakaja is a Kenyan politician serving as the governor of Nairobi City County since 25 August 2022. Previously,he served as the Senator of Nairobi from 2017 to 2022,and as a nominated Member of the National Assembly from 2013 to 2017.
