Music School is a 2023 Indian musical film made in Telugu and Hindi languages written and directed by Papa Rao Biyyala, starring Shriya Saran, Prakash Raj, Sharman Joshi, Ozu Barua and Gracy Goswami in important roles. The principal photography of the film started on 15 November 2021. [1] The film has 12 songs, with 9 of them composed by Ilaiyaraaja. [2] The film was released on 12 May 2023.

Premise

Music School is about the pressure applied by school systems and parents on children to continue with endless hours of studies, only studies. Thinking of making them doctors and engineers, thereby leaving no time for art and leisure activities for the students.

Production

Papa Rao Biyyala, a sports administrator and former member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), launched himself as feature film director with Music School, a musical, produced by the Hyderabad-based company Yamini Films. Choreographer Adam Murray, who worked in The King's Man , Cruella and Rocketman was the first among signed technicians. [3] Ilaiyaraaja was signed as the composer of the film, who orchestrated and recorded the background score of the in Budapest, Hungary. [4] Apart from Ilaiyaraaja's 9 songs, the film also includes three songs from the Oscar-winning classic The Sound of Music and those were orchestrated by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. [5] The film wrapped up its third schedule on 12 March 2022 [6] and the complete pack up happened on 6 June 2022. [7]

Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu was an Indian actor and film producer, who was known for his work in Telugu cinema. Babu made his on screen debut with the film Alluri Seetharama Raju in 1974. He acted in over 15 films before retiring from acting in 1997. In 2004, he became a producer and established Krishna Productions Private Ltd, a film production company named after his father. He produced films like Arjun and Athidhi, both of which had his brother Mahesh Babu in leading role. One of his last roles was as a presenter for the 2011 film Dookudu.

V. N. Anoop Kumar is a former Indian actor who has appeared in Tamil and Telugu films. He made his debut in the 2006 film, Vattaram directed by Saran.

Gracy Goswami is an Indian actress who mainly works in Hindi television and films. She made her acting debut in 2014 portraying Pinky Patil in Bandhan. Goswami is best known for her portrayal of Nandini Shekhar in Balika Vadhu and Amrit Sahani in Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye. Goswami made her film debut with Begum Jaan in 2017 and portrayed Young Khanzada Begum in the 2021 web series The Empire.

Shriya Saran is an Indian actress and model who has appeared mostly in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi language films. She made her acting debut with the Telugu film Ishtam (2001) and had her first commercial success with Santosham (2002). The following year, she made her Hindi cinema debut with a supporting role in Tujhe Meri Kasam, alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza. It was followed by the commercially successful crime drama Tagore (2003), in which she was paired opposite Chiranjeevi. The same year, she played a supporting role in the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Enakku 20 Unakku 18, which marked her debut in Tamil cinema. In 2005, she had ten releases including Mazhai, S. S. SIIMA Award for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu is presented by Vibri media group as part of its annual South Indian International Movie Awards, for the best acting done by an actor in a supporting role in Telugu films. The award was first given in 2013 for films released in 2012. Jayasudha is the most nominated with 5 nominations and Anasuya Bharadwaj most awarded with 2 times winning the award.

Gamanam (transl. Voyage) is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language anthology film written and directed by debutant Sujana Rao and produced by Ramesh Karutoori, Venki Pushadapu and Gnana Shekar V.S under the Kria Film Corp and Kali Productions banners. The film stars Shriya Saran, Siva Kandukuri and Priyanka Jawalkar along with Suhas, Nithya Menen, Charuhasan, Bithiri Sathi, and Ravi Prakash. The dialogues were written by Sai Madhav Burra. The film was released on 10 December 2021.
