Music producers in Uganda

Music production in Uganda has greatly evolved and improved over the years. Many music producers have joined the industry over the years which has led to the rapid growth of the music production industry in Uganda. Uganda has welcomed a number of talented new music producers, while maintaining the experienced producers who have been gracing the Uganda music industry with massive hits for decades. [1]

Jack Rollen [3]

Ezra Colgate Onenchan Jackson also known by his stage name Jack Rollen is a Ugandan record producer and mixing engineer. Jack Rollen is the senior producer at JARO Studios and also the Executive director at JARO vision RECORDS.

Benon Mugumbya [4]

Benon Mugumbya was once considered one of the most iconic music producers in Uganda. He is the founder of the Record label Swangz Avenue, one of the best record labels in Uganda. [5]

PaddyMan [6]

Paddy Kayiwa Mukasa known by his stage name Paddyman is a Ugandan record producer. He started his music production career in 2005 from the suburbs of Kampala, Kawempe. He has since then been popular and has achieved great success in his career. [7]

Hannz Tactiq [8]

Hannington Muhumuza Wacha also known as Producer Hannz is a Ugandan record producer and DJ. He started his music production career from his hostel apartment at University. He later joined Audio Institute America(AIA) to major in music production and sound engineering. [9]

Alex Julius Kwesigabo, better known by his stage name Flex D'Paper, is a Ugandan rapper and songwriter born and raised in Kampala. Starting off his music career, Flex D'Paper was part of the high school rap group, The Rapaholix, which he started with friends, Dasper Cosine and later joined by Apass as an affiliate with whom the trio put out a mix tape, The Eviction Notice that included chart topping singles like "Burning", "Party Life" and "Follow Me" which topped countdowns in Uganda such as NTV and Sanyu FM. Sheebah Karungi, professionally known as Queen Karma and Sheebah, is a Ugandan musician, dancer, actress and feminist activist. She debuted her acting career in Queen of Katwe as Shakira. After quitting Obsessions, a dance group she joined in 2006, she started making music and later rose to recognition upon the release of her hit single "Ice Cream". In 2014, she released her debut project Ice Cream, a five-track EP which did well commercially and led her to win back-to-back HiPipo Music Awards Best Female Artist in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. She also won the Artist of the Year award twice, in 2017, 2018, and 2019 at the HiPipo Music Awards. In 2024, she was appointed vice president of the Uganda National Musician Federation assisting Eddy Kenzo who is the president of the federation.

Kampala Boy is the first studio album by Ugandan musician Flex D'Paper, released on 10 December 2021. The album features guest appearances from Swae Lee on the intro and songs with Navio, Fik Fameica, A Pass, Keko, Shena skies, Wake the Poet, Mozelo Kidz, Kemishan, Lagum the rapper. The production includes Aethan Music, Mio Made, Sam Lamara, Wake the Poet, Bad Chwezi and Lucian.

Priscilla Zawedde better known by her stage name Azawi is a Ugandan singer, songwriter and dancer signed by Swangz Avenue in 2019. Her musical genre is Afrobeats in both Luganda and English. She became the first female Ugandan act to appear on the New York "Times Square" and Los Angeles billboards.

Born To Conquer (B2C) Entertainment, also known as Kampala Boys, is a Ugandan music group of three musicians who sing together. B2C is made of [Delivad Julio], [Mr. Lee B2C] and [Bobby Lash B2C]. Delivad Julio and Mr. Lee sing with soothing soft RnB vocals while Bobby Lash B2C sings the Ragga and dancehall vibes. The three formed B2C entertainment from school as they were students at Crested secondary school in Makindye Division in Kampala. Because of their consistency, the trio decided to start professional music in 2016 with their breakthrough song known as Tokigeza produced by Diggy Baur.

Ssali Peterson professionally known as Bobby Lash B2C is a Ugandan musician born on 20 April 1992 from Namirembe Hospital in Kampala District in Uganda. Bobby Lash was born to the family of Mr. Ssali Peter and Mrs. Nabukeera Teopista. He is a professional musician signed under the B2C Entertainment record label since 2016.

Aida Victoria Nakityo Ssebakiggye, known professionally as Aida Vee is a Ugandan-American musician. Aida Vee was one of the co-founders and the lead singer for the Urbana Band, a live performing band that covered various genres of music. During her time at Vienna College Namugongo in high school, she received several awards for her talent and creativity. She represented Africa in the Napa festivals while still at Gayaza Junior School in primary/grade three and she has been recognized for her contribution to the music industry.

Kyeru Phiona Bridget is a Ugandan beauty queen and former miss tourism Uganda. She was born on September 27, 1997, in Iganga, Busoga region, Uganda. She was crowned miss tourism Uganda 2019 on October 4, 2019.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mbaziira Tonny</span> Ugandan DJ

Mbaziira Tonny(born 3 March 1987) is a Ugandan DJ, producer and record executive from Masaka District. Mbaziira Tonny first gained recognition as a radio host in 2008 for radio Equator in Masaka and translated his popularity by working with his deejaying partner Ssuuna Ben with their local music style known as Endongo Yebinyaanya both on the radio and in live performances.

Tusuubira Ibrahim Lubega, also known as Jajja Iculi or Isma Olaxess, was a Ugandan vlogger, a social media influencer and a music critic who served as president of Uganda Bloggers Association until his death in May, 2023. He came to be known for his plain-spokenness and candor communication style. His fully-televised funeral followed his public expressions of support, a day after the demise of Ugandan Minister Charles Engola, who was shot by his own bodyguard William Sabiiti, with bodyguard's action reportedly motivated by the Minister's silence over government's human rights violation.
