Steppenwolf was a Canadian-American rock band formed in late 1967 in Los Angeles. The group was founded by singer/rhythm guitarist John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn and drummer Jerry Edmonton, all formerly of the Canadian band the Sparrows.
