Mykhailo Stelmakh (Ukrainian : Михайло Андрійович Стельмах; 29 April 1966 – 13 January 2025) was a Ukrainian football manager and player.

Career

Born in Zolochiv, Lviv Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union, he played with Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Soviet First League. In 1992, he had a spell with Spartak Subotica in the First League of FR Yugoslavia before returning to, now independent, Ukraine and play with Karpaty Lviv, Vorskla Poltava and CSKA Kyiv. [1]

After retiring he became a coach, first as assistant manager of CSKA Kyiv [2] and Kharkiv and then main coach of Kharkiv between 2008 and 2010. [3]

Death

Stelmakh died on 13 January 2025, at the age of 58. [4]

The 2020 Ukrainian Cup Final decided the winner of the 2019–20 Ukrainian Cup, the 29th season of the annual Ukrainian football cup competition. It was played on 8 July 2020 at the OSC Metalist Stadium in Kharkiv between Dynamo Kyiv and Vorskla Poltava. This was the fifth time the cup final would be held in Kharkiv after 2008, 2010, 2013 and 2017 finals.

The 2008–09 season is FC Metalist Kharkiv's 64th season in existence and the club's 5th consecutive season in the top flight of Ukrainian football.
