Mykola Hordiychuk (born 5 February 1983) is a retired Ukrainian weightlifter. He competed in the men's heavyweight event at the 2004 Summer Olympics. [1] He lifted in total 395.0 kg and originally finished 11th but his result was subsequently annulled. Later he served disqualification for doping abuse. [2]
At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, fifteen events in weightlifting were contested, in eight classes for men and seven for women. Competition was held in the Nikaia Olympic Weightlifting Hall.

Ilya Aleksandrovich Ilyin is a retired Kazakhstani weightlifter who won four world championships. On 12 December, 2015 at the President's Cup in Grozny, Russia, Ilyin set two world records in the −105 kg class. He lifted 246 kg in the clean and jerk and 437 kg in the total. Ilyin was named IWF World Weightlifter of the Year four times: in 2005, 2006, 2014, and 2015.

Izabela Dragneva-Rifatova is a retired weightlifter from Bulgaria, who is best known for being the first female weightlifter to be stripped of her medal and results and disqualified from an Olympic games for cheating. She twice competed for her native country at the Summer Olympics: 2000 and 2004. She won the silver medal in the women's – 53 kg division at the 1998 World Weightlifting Championships in Lahti.
Tatiana Yuryevna Kashirina is a Russian Olympic weightlifter, Olympic silver medalist, five time World Champion and eight time European Champion competing in the +90 kg and +75 kg categories until 2018 and +87 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories. On 9 September 2023, the Court of Arbitration for Sport annulled over four years of her results due to drugs offenses, stating, "All the competitive results obtained by Tatiana Kashirina from 1 April 2013 until 19 June 2017 were disqualified, with all the resulting consequences, including the forfeiture of any titles, awards, medals, points and prize and appearance money."

Sarah Elizabeth Robles is an American weightlifter. She qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and earned a bronze medal in weightlifting at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, becoming the first US athlete to medal in Olympic weightlifting in 16 years. She repeated her feat in the +87 kg category at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, once again earning bronze, and becoming the first US woman to earn two Olympic weightlifting medals.

Mital Baltabayevich Sharipov was a Kyrgyzstani weightlifter. He was born in Frunze. Sharipov represented Kyrgyzstan at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he competed in the men's light heavyweight class. He successfully lifted 155 kg in the single-motion snatch, and hoisted 190 kg in the two-part, shoulder-to-overhead clean and jerk to deliver a sixteenth-place finish in a field of twenty weightlifters with a total of 345 kg. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Sharipov was appointed as the Kyrgyzstani flag bearer in the opening ceremony, but has been immediately excluded by the International Olympic Committee for violations on anti-doping rules.
Mitko Todorov Grablev is a Bulgarian weightlifter who competed for Bulgaria. He is world and twice European champion and world record holder. He originally claimed the gold medal in Weightlifting at the 1988 Summer Olympics – Men's 56 kg but was disqualified after he tested positive for furosemide. It became a scandal after another Bulgarian weightlifter Angel Guenchev, who also originally claimed a gold medal in weightlifting, was disqualified for failing drug testing and a positive result for the doping agent furosemide. The Bulgarian weightlifting team was forced to withdraw midway from the weightlifting competition.
Tomáš Matykiewicz is a Czech weightlifter. He competed in the men's heavyweight event at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He was tested positive for doping after the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships and was banned from competing for two years.
