Yang Yang (simplified Chinese: 杨扬; traditional Chinese: 楊揚; pinyin: Yáng Yáng; born 24 August 1976 in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang, China) is a retired Chinese short track speed skater. She is a two-time Olympic Champion from 2002 Winter Olympics and a six-time Overall World Champion for 1997–2002. Known as Yang Yang (A), she was formerly a member of the Chinese national short track team. Yang is one of the most accomplished short track speed skaters of all time having won 34 world titles, including six Overall World Championships. She is the first person to have won six Overall World Titles and won six consecutively. Her victory in the women's 500 m short track at the 2002 Winter Olympics made her China's first-ever Winter Olympics gold medalist. She added a second gold in the women's 1000 m short track at the same Games and has also won two silver and a bronze medal. After 2003 World Championships, Yang took time off competing, but came back in 2004–2005 season in lead-up to 2006 Winter Olympics where she won the bronze medal in 1000m race. She retired soon afterwards.

Oh Se-jong was a South Korean short track speed skater who won gold in the 5000 m relay at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. He also competed in 5000 m relay at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. He died in a traffic accident on 27 June 2016 in Seoul, South Korea.
Li Jiajun is a former Chinese short track speed skater who has won 5 Olympic medals – two silver and three bronze. He has been a two-time Overall World Champion for 1999 and 2001.
Athletes from the West Indies Federation competed under the name Antilles (ANT), renamed to British West Indies (BWI) by the IOC, at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy. Thirteen competitors—two from Barbados, four from Trinidad, and seven from Jamaica—all men, took part in thirteen events in five sports. The short-lived nation only participated at these single Games, as Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago competed independently again in 1964, and Barbados started competing at the 1968 Games. The team won two bronze medals, both in track and field athletics.

The Mongolian delegation consisted of a single short track speed skater Batchuluuny Bat-Orgil. He competed in two events, where he finished the 500 metres event in 24th place and the 1000 metres competition in 29th position.
Lee Joon-ho is a South Korean short track speed skater. In 1990, he became the first Korean to win the Overall World Short Track Speed Skating Championships. Lee won a gold medal in 1992 Winter Olympics as a member of 5000m relay team. He also won an individual bronze medal in 1000m.

Belgium sent a delegation to compete at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from 12–28 February 2010. The nation has been to every Winter Olympics except two, both in the 1960s. The Belgian delegation to Vancouver consisted of eight athletes, competing in four different sports. The delegation did not win any medals, and their best performance in any event was ninth by Pieter Gysel in the short track speed skating 1,500 meters event.

Shaolin Sándor Liu is a Chinese-Hungarian Olympic champion short track speed skater. He has won one gold and one bronze as part of the Hungarian team in short track speed skating relays at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. He has chosen to change nationality that may allow him to compete for China in 2024.
