Nogometni klub Branik Solkan (English: Branik Solkan Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Branik Solkan or simply Branik, was a Slovenian football club from Solkan. The club was founded in 1918 as NK Volga.

The Stadion Ljudski vrt is an association football stadium located on the left bank of the river Drava in the district of Koroška Vrata, Maribor, Slovenia, with a seating capacity of 12,702. The ground has been the home of NK Maribor for every season since their formation on 12 December 1960, with the exception of two short periods in early 1961 during the construction of the new stands and early 2008, when the stadium underwent a major reconstruction. Opened in 1952, it was originally the home of Branik Maribor, an association football club, which folded and was disbanded in 1960. The ground has hosted 23 Slovenia internationals at senior level, the first in 1994 and the most recent in 2015. Ljudski vrt has hosted more Slovenian Football Cup finals than any other stadium, having hosted six matches in total. In addition, the stadium was one of the four venues, which hosted the 2012 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship.

Stjepan Lamza is a former Yugoslav football player. He is considered as one of the greatest Croatian players of all time and played for much of his career for NK Dinamo Zagreb, whom he helped in winning the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1967. He has made seven appearances for Yugoslavia national team.

NK Branik Maribor

Nogometni klub Branik Maribor, known as NK Branik or simply Branik, was an association football club based in the city of Maribor. Founded on 29 January 1949 they traced their origin back to 1919 and the establishment of I. SSK Maribor, an association football club founded by Slovenian youth which ceased all operations due to World War II. NK Branik was disbanded on 11 August 1960 due to the food poisoning affair before their promotional qualifications match for the Yugoslav Second League against Karlovac. The club colours were black and white.

Milan Žurman is a former Slovenian football and futsal player who played as a forward. He spent majority of his football career playing for the Slovenian club Maribor, where he played between 1981–1991 and 1996–1997. He was capped 276 times and scored 82 goals for Maribor in all competitions. He was also a member of another Slovenian club, Rudar Velenje, where he spent two seasons. Outside Slovenia, he only played for the Austrian lower league clubs. Beside football, he played futsal at the professional level, starting in 1984. After retirement, he became a manager in the Austrian lower divisions.

Odbojkarski klub Nova KBM Branik, commonly referred to as OK Nova KBM Branik or simply Branik, is a professional women's volleyball team based in Maribor. Nova KBM Branik competes in the Slovenian League and in regional MEVZA Cup. Formed in 1946, they are the most successful Slovenian women's volleyball team, winning the Slovenian League 15 times, Slovenian Cup 17 times, and regional MEVZA Cup four times. In addition, the team have won the Yugoslav Championship four times, including the inaugural 1946 edition.
