English Vinglish is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film, written and directed by Gauri Shinde. The narrative revolves around a woman named Shashi, a small entrepreneur who makes snacks. Shashi enrolls in an English-speaking course to stop her husband and daughter mocking her lack of English skills and gains self-respect in the process. The protagonist, played by Sridevi, was inspired by Shinde's mother. English Vinglish was originally made in Hindi; later it was partially re-shot in Tamil and released along with a Telugu dubbed version on 5 October 2012. Mom is a 2017 Indian crime thriller film directed by Ravi Udyawar, based on a screenplay written by Girish Kohli. Produced by Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja, Naresh Agarwal and Gautam Jain, the film stars Sridevi as a vigilante who sets out to avenge her stepdaughter, played by Pakistani actress Sajal Ali. The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna and Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui in supporting roles. Music for the film has been composed and produced by A. R. Rahman. The film also has a host of Bollywood actors in guest appearances including Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, Tisca Chopra and Anupam Kher. This was Tisca Chopra's debut film. She was credited with Tisca Arora in the film which is her maiden name.
