Naft Gachsaran Football Club is an Iranian football club based in Gachsaran, Iran. They currently compete in the Iranian Azadegan League.

History

Naft Gachsaran was founded in 1967 by oil workers in the area. For much of the early years of the club, the team played only friendly matches and in local leagues.

After the revolution the club played mainly in the lower leagues of Iranian football. They reached the second tiered Azadegan League in 2013 before returning to League 2 in Iran.

Naft Tehran Football Club is an Iranian football club based in Tehran, Iran. They competed in the Persian Gulf Pro League. They were owned by the National Iranian Oil Company previously. Naft Tehran was founded in 1950 and played in the Takhti Stadium until 2018.

The 2012–13 Persian Gulf Cup was the 30th season of Iran's Football League and 12th as Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Sepahan were the defending champions. The season featured 15 teams from the 2011–12 Persian Gulf Cup and three new teams promoted from the 2011–12 Azadegan League: Paykan as champions, Aluminium Hormozgan and Gahar Zagros. The league started on 19 July 2012 and ended on 10 May 2013. Esteghlal won the Pro League title for the third time in their history.

The 2013–14 Azadegan League was the 23rd season of the Azadegan League and 13th as the second highest division since its establishment in 1991. The season featured 17 teams from the 2012–13 Azadegan League, four new teams relegated from the 2012–13 Persian Gulf Cup: Aluminium Hormozgan, Sanat Naft, Paykan and Gahar Zagros and four new teams promoted from the 2012–13 2nd Division: Naft va Gaz Gachsaran and Siah Jamegan both as champions and Sanaye Giti Pasand and Albadr Bandar Kong. Padideh replaced Mes Sarcheshmeh. The league started on 22 September 2013 and ended on 8 April 2014. Padideh won the Azadegan League title for the first time in their history. The 2013–14 Hazfi Cup was the 27th season of the Iranian football knockout competition. Sepahan was the defending champion, but was eliminated by Sanat Naft in Round of 32. The competition started on 4 September 2013 and ended on 14 February 2014. Tractor won the title with defeating Mes Kerman in the final.

The 2016–17 Hazfi Cup was the 30th season of the Iranian football knockout competition. Zob Ahan Isfahan, the defending champions, were eliminated by Tractor Sazi in the semi-final in extra time. The competition started on 12 September 2016, and the final was played on 11 May 2017. Naft Tehran defeated Tractor Sazi at the final and earned their first title.

2017–18 Iran Football's 2nd Division is the 17th under 2nd Division since its establishment in 2001. The season featured 25 teams from the 2nd Division 2016–17, three new teams relegated from the 2016–17 Azadegan League: Kheibar Khoramabad, Foolad Yazd, Esteghlal Ahvaz, and five new teams promoted from the 3rd Division 2016–17: Shahrdari Bam, Mes Novin Kerman, Perspolis Mashhad, Khoushe Talaye Sana, Shohadaye Babolsar.

2020–21 Iran Football's 2nd Division is the 20th under 2nd Division since its establishment in 2001. The season featured 21 teams from the 2nd Division 2019–20, three new team relegated from the 2019–20 Azadegan League: Elmoadab Tabriz F.C., Sepidrood Rasht S.C., Nirooye Zamini F.C., and four new teams promoted from the 3rd Division 2019–20: Shahin Bandar Ameri, Mohtasham Tabriz, Vista Toorbin, Oghab Tehran F.C.
