Nalanda Walk is an annual event organised by Nalanda College, Colombo Old Boys Union. [1]
It is paraded by Vintage Cars and limousines, Hummer, other super luxury cars, decorated Elephants, floats, Mounted horses, Bands, Drummers, open double deckers and many cultural items together with the principal, teachers, Old boys of different ages and invited school children from other schools. This year too in 2014 "Nalanda Walk" took place on a grand scale attended by alumni Mahinda Rajapaksa, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Rajitha Senaratne, Chandima Weerakkody & Thilanga Sumathipala. [17] [18] [19] [20] [21] [22] [23]
Ananda College is a prestigious Buddhist school in Maradana, Colombo. It was established as the English Buddhist School by Colonel Henry Steel Olcott in 1886. In the present day, it provides primary and secondary education on a campus of 15 acres (61,000 m2).
Rahula College is a boys' school in Sri Lanka, located in Matara district. Though it was originally a private Buddhist school, now it is run by the Government of Sri Lanka as a National School. Kingswood College is a Sri Lankan Public school offering boys primary and secondary education. The Henry Steel Olcott Memorial Cricket Tournament is conducted annually among the past cricketers of eight premier Buddhist schools in Sri Lanka in honour of Col. Dhamma Jagoda was the first Head of the Drama Unit at the National Television channel Rupavahini Corporation in Sri Lanka.
