"Nana Banana" is a song performed by Israeli singer Netta. The song was released as a digital download on 10 May 2019 as the third single from her debut extended play Goody Bag . [1] [2] The song was written by Nathan Goshen, Stav Beger and Netta Barzilai.

The three live shows were presented by Israeli television presenters Erez Tal, Assi Azar and Lucy Ayoub, and Israeli model Bar Refaeli.

Israel was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "Home", written by Ohad Shragai and Inbar Weitzman, and performed by Kobi Marimi. The Israeli participating broadcaster, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC/Kan), organised in collaboration with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion to select its performer for the contest. In addition, IPBC/Kan was also the host broadcaster and staged the event at the Expo Tel Aviv in Tel Aviv, after winning the previous edition with the song "Toy" performed by Netta.

Romania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "On a Sunday" written by Ester Alexandra Crețu, Alexandru Șerbu and Ioana Victoria Badea. The song was performed by Ester Peony. The Romanian broadcaster Televiziunea Română (TVR) organised the national final Selecția Națională2019 in order to select the Romanian entry for the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv, Israel. The national final consisted of three shows: two semi-finals on 27 January and 10 February 2019, respectively, and a final on 17 February 2019. A total of twenty-four entries were selected and twelve competed in each semi-final where a five-member jury panel selected five entries to advance to the final, while a public vote selected an additional entry to enter the final. The twelve qualifiers competed in the final where "On a Sunday" performed by Ester Peony was selected as the winner after scoring top marks from a six-member international jury panel and a public televote.

Israel originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The Israeli broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation collaborated with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions, which organisied the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion. The competition was won by Eden Alene, with a separate national final, HaShir HaBa L'Eurovizion, held to select her entry "Feker Libi". However, the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her entry for 2021, "Set Me Free", was chosen during the national selection competition HaShir Shelanu L'Eurovizion organised by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation.
