The University of California,Irvine,is a public land-grant research university in Irvine,California,United States. One of the ten campuses of the University of California system,UCI offers 87 undergraduate degrees and 129 graduate and professional degrees,and roughly 30,000 undergraduates and 6,000 graduate students are enrolled at UCI as of Fall 2019. The California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2,previously Cal(IT)2),also referred to as the Qualcomm Institute (QI) at its San Diego branch,is a $400 million academic research institution jointly run by the University of California San Diego (UC San Diego) and the University of California,Irvine (UCI);in January 2022,plans were announced to add University of California,Riverside to the consortium. Calit2 was established in 2000 as one of the four UC Gray Davis Institutes for Science and Innovation. Nalini Venkatasubramanian is a Professor of Computer Science in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California,Irvine. She is known for her work in effective management and utilization of resources in the evolving global information infrastructure. Her research interests are Multimedia Computing,Networked and Distributed Systems,Internet technologies and Applications,Ubiquitous Computing and Urban Crisis Responses. Dr. Venkatasubramanian's research focuses on enabling effective management and utilization of resources in the evolving global information infrastructure. She also addresses the problem of composing resource management services in distributed systems.

Evolving out of biological ecology,human ecology,systems theory and ecological psychology,social ecology takes a “broad,interdisciplinary perspective that gives greater attention to the social,psychological,institutional,and cultural contexts of people-environment relations than did earlier versions of human ecology.”The concept has been employed to study a diverse array of social problems and policies within the behavioural and social sciences.

Gregory N. Washington is an American university professor and academic administrator. On July 1,2020,he became the 8th president of George Mason University. Nancy C. Jordan is an American educator. She is the Dean Family Endowed Professorship for Teacher Education at the University of Delaware. Jordan and her colleagues developed Number Sense Interventions,a curriculum that allows teachers to help students at risk for these mathematical challenges.

Jodi Anne Quas is an applied developmental psychologist who is known for her work on how maltreatment and abuse affect memory development and children's ability to give eyewitness testimony after experiencing trauma. She holds the position of Professor of Psychological Science and Nursing Science at the University of California,Irvine School of Social Ecology.
