Nandan Bezbarua is a former cricketer who played first-class cricket for Assam from 1967 to 1979.
A middle-order and opening batsman,Bezbarua played four matches for Assam from 1966–67 to 1970–71 with little success,then returned to the team in 1974–75. In his third match that season he opened the batting and top-scored in each innings,although he made only 11 and 8 not out,and Assam totalled only 35 and 33 and lost to Bengal by an innings and 282 runs. In the second innings he carried his bat. [1] He had his most successful season in 1977–78,scoring 121 runs at an average of 24.20, [2] including his highest score of 59 (equal top score) against Bihar. [3]
He captained Assam in his last season,1979–80. He top-scored in the first innings of the first match with 29,and finished the season with 84 runs at 14.00 in Assam's three matches;Assam's highest scorer that season made 85 runs. [4] He later served as honorary secretary of the Assam Cricket Association. [5]

Under his coaching,Indian cricket team finished as runners-up at the 2023 Cricket World Cup and 2023 ICC World Test Championship final and were semifinalist at the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Arthur Shrewsbury was an English cricketer and rugby football administrator. He was widely rated as competing with W. G. Grace for the accolade of best batsman of the 1880s;Grace himself,when asked whom he would most like in his side,replied simply,"Give me Arthur". An opening batsman,Shrewsbury played his cricket for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and played 23 Test matches for England,captaining them in 7 games,with a record of won 5,lost 2. He was the last professional to be England captain until Len Hutton was chosen in 1952. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1890. He also organised the first British Isles rugby tour to Australasia in 1888.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an Indian professional cricketer. He is a right handed batter and a wicket-keeper. Widely regarded as one of the most prolific wicket-keeper-batsman and captain,he represented the Indian cricket team and was the captain of the side in limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2017 and in test cricket from 2008 to 2014. Dhoni has captained the most international matches and is the most successful Indian captain with wins in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20,the 2011 Cricket World Cup,the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy and the Asia Cup in 2010,2016. He plays for and captains Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Ian Charles Davis is an Australian former cricketer (batsman) who played in 15 Test matches and three One Day Internationals between 1973 and 1977. Davis retired from first-class cricket in 1984 then worked for Dunlop Slazenger until his retirement in 2010.

Shikhar Dhawan is an Indian cricketer. A left-handed opening batsman,he captains Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League and plays for Delhi in first-class cricket. At the 2013 Champions Trophy and 2017 Champions Trophy,Dhawan was the leading run-scorer and was awarded the 'Golden Bat' in both the tournaments. He was the leading run scorer for India at the 2015 Cricket World Cup. He also became the first player in the history of IPL to score two back-to-back centuries. He was awarded the 'Player of the Tournament' for his exploits in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy,which he won with his national side. In the 2018 Asia Cup which Dhawan won with his national side,he was named Player Of The Tournament as he was the top scorer of the tournament with the bat.
Yousuf Rahman was a Bangladeshi cricketer,who played regularly for the national side from 1976-77 until his retirement in 1983–84. He top scored with 78 against the MCC at Dhaka in January 1977. He was the first Bangladeshi to score an international hundred,with 115 against PNG in 1982. In the early part of his career,he used to bat in the middle order,but from 1979–80 season onwards he was a regular opener. He was also a useful medium pacer.
The 1936–37 Ranji Trophy was the third edition of the Ranji Trophy,an annual first-class cricket tournament in India. Matches were played from 3 December 1936 to 10 February 1937 with a total of 17 teams participating. The sides were divided into four zonal groups,but the tournament utilised a knockout format. Fifteen of the 1935–36 teams returned but Northern India did not. The two newcomers were Bihar and Nawanagar,who won the title at the first attempt after defeating Bengal by 256 runs in the final.
