Nasimul Gani is the Secretary of the Public Department of the President's Office of President Mohammed Shahabuddin. [1] [2] He is the former private secretary of the speaker of the parliament Jamiruddin Sircar. [3]
Gani met Syed Golam Mowla and Kawsar Shahnewaz in the 1980s. [4] The trio opened the first office of Hizb-ut Tahrir in Bangladesh in 2000. [4] [5] Mohiuddin Ahmed was the chief coordinator of the organization in Dhaka. [4]
In January 2007, Gani was transferred to the post of Director General of the National Institute of Population Research and Training from secretary to the President of Bangladesh. [6]

[3] In 2009, he was the Director General of the National Institute of Population Research and Training. [7] He was made an officer of special duty in 2009 after Awami League came to power along with M. A. Akmal Hossain Azad, secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture. [7] He was sent to retirement on 29 May 2013. [3]
Gani was appointed Secretary of the Public Department of President Mohammed Shahabuddin's Office on 18 August 2024 after the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government fell. [8] At the same time four others were made contractual secretaries, Sheikh Abdur Rashid in the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Ehchanul Haque in Roads and Highways Department, Mohammad Abdul Momen in Public Security Division, and M. A. Akmal Hossain Azad in Ministry of Railway. [8] Gazi replaced Wahidul Islam Khan who was terminated from his position. [3]

Mohammed Shahabuddin, natively known as Chuppu, is the 16th and incumbent President of Bangladesh. A jurist, civil servant and politician, he was elected unopposed in the 2023 presidential election in the nomination of the ruling Awami League. Prior to his presidency, Shahabuddin served as a district and sessions judge and a commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission from 2011 to 2016.

M. A. Akmal Hossain Azad is secretary of the Health Services Division and former secretary of the Ministry of Railways. He was appointed on a contractual basis after the fall of the Awami League government.
