Nasser Hassan Sweilam is an Egyptian professor of numerical analysis at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Cairo University. A member of the African Academy of Sciences. A former Head of the Department of Mathematics, an ex-director of the Information Technology Unit and currently the Director of the E-learning Unit, Faculty of Science of the institution. Early life and education

Nasser Hassan Sweilam was born in Suez, Egypt on August 21, 1959. He attended Suez Secondary School and graduated in 1977. He obtained his B.Sc. in Mathematics from  aaaa[ clarification needed ] in 1981. He earned his M.Sc. from the same institution in 1984 and amount Masters's degree in 1989. He was a channel system PhD student between Cairo University, Egypt, and TU-Munich, Germany and eventually earned his PhD in 1994. [1] [3]

Career

He started his career after his Bachelor of Science degree as a mathematics demonstrator in 1981 at the Department of Mathematics, Cairo University. He became an assistant lecturer in 1989 in the same Alma mater. After his PhD, he became a lecturer in 1994, assistant professor in 1997, associate professor in 2007 and attained full professorship in the same year. [4] [1]

Ahmed Moharram, Sr. was Minister of Housing and Public Utilities in Egypt and the co-founder and chairman of ACE Moharram Bakhoum, an international engineering and project management group. Because of his significant contributions to the housing, infrastructure, and civil engineering, Moharram received honorary medals and awards such as the Medal of the Order of the Republic of the 1st Degree in 1964 from the former president Gamal Abdel Nasser, Medal of the Order of Merit of the 1st Degree in 1985 from the former president Hosni Mubarak, Mubarak's Award in 2002, and several other honors in Egypt. The 2019 Egyptian protests were mass protests in Cairo, Alexandria, Damietta and other cities on 20, 21 and 27 September 2019 in which the protestors called for President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to be removed from power. Security forces responded with tear gas, rubber bullets and, as of 23 October 2019, 4300 arbitrary arrests had been made, based on data from the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights, the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms, the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information, among which 111 were minors according to Amnesty International and the Belady Foundation. Prominent arrestees included human rights lawyer Mahienour el-Massry, journalist and former leader of the Constitution Party Khaled Dawoud and two professors of political science at Cairo University, Hazem Hosny and Hassan Nafaa. The wave of arrests was the biggest in Egypt since Sisi formally became president in 2014.

Mohamed Ibrahim Hassan Selim was a lieutenant general in the Egyptian Armed Forces who served as the first chief of the general staff from 1952 to 1959, minister of Military Production from 1971 to 1972, and the first commander of Military Technical College from 1957 to 1971. He was also the founder of that college.

Shoukry Hassan Sayed is an Egyptian professor of Applied Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, College of Science University of Bahrain. He was the former Head of Mathematics Department, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He is a fellow of the Institute of Physics (London) and an elected member of African Academy of Sciences.
