Nathan William Staniforth is an American magician. He is best known as one of the magicians in season 2 of the Discovery Channel show Breaking Magic. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Staniforth was born in 1982 to Arthur and Jayne Staniforth. [5] His Staniforth family has links to Quebec, and are originally from the United Kingdom. [6] Growing up in Ames, Iowa, he attended Ames High School, graduating in 2001. [5] He graduated with a B.A in History and Religion from the University of Iowa and then began working as a magician in Los Angeles before touring the country. [7]
He grew up performing in local venues around Iowa, and soon caught media attention. In 2016, he appeared on the ITV series The Next Great Magician where he performed with the cast from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical [8] [9] That same year he appeared on Harry Connick Jr's television talk show Harry .[ citation needed ] The following year he was chosen to co-host Season 2 of the Discovery Channel show Breaking Magic which sees him traveling the U.S and Europe performing street magic. In the show he is most commonly performing solo card tricks as well as illusions. The show has gained him international recognition. [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]
On January 16, 2018, he released his autobiography titled Here Is Real Magic: A Magician's Search for Wonder in the Modern World. [15] On February 15, 2018, Staniforth appeared on the Today Show where he performed a trick for journalist Megyn Kelly. [16]
He has also hosted TED Talks at the University of Iowa related to his profession, as well as the emotions of those impacted by magic tricks. [17] [18]
Staniforth toured with fellow magicians James Galea, Justin Flom, Justin Willman under the group name Band of Magicians which formed in 2014. [19] [20]

He gained prominence in 1997, when his first television special, David Blaine: Street Magic, aired on ABC. That year, he also appeared in Magic Man. He later starred in the television specials David Blaine: Real or Magic (2013), Beyond Magic (2016), and The Magic Way (2020).

John Carney is a professional sleight-of-hand artist, author and comic actor. He won various awards from the Academy of Magical Arts, including "stage magician of the year", "close-up magician of the year", and "parlour magician of the year". In 1988 and 1991, he won first and second place, respectively, in "micro magic" at the world Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques championships. Carney studied under sleight of hand magician Dai Vernon.

Val Valentino is an American magician. Valentino is best known for starring in the television show Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed, where he exposes the methods behind numerous classic magic tricks and illusions on the Fox network. In the specials, he used the stage name the Masked Magician and concealed his true identity by wearing a mask with a squid like design, being aware of the stigma amongst the magic community with publicly exposing tricks. As the finale to the final special, Valentino revealed his identity as the Masked Magician, garnering some notoriety amongst the magic community, and instigating several lawsuits.
Madren Elbern "John" Calvert was an American magician and film actor. He performed on stage for eight decades both in the United States and worldwide. Siegfried & Roy cited him as an inspiration, and Bess Houdini said that he was second only to Harry Houdini in "play(ing) the part of a magician."

Justin Willman is an American magician, comedian, producer, and television personality. He is the creator and star of Magic for Humans on Netflix. The third season of Magic for Humans was released on May 15, 2020. He has made regular appearances on The Tonight Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Conan. His debut comedy/magic special Sleight of Mouth premiered on Comedy Central in 2015. He hosts the shows Cupcake Wars, Halloween Wars,King of Cones on the Food Network, Disney's Win, Lose or Draw on Disney Channel, along with Baking Impossible and The Magic Prank Show with Justin Willman on Netflix.

Magic, which encompasses the subgenres of illusion, stage magic, and close-up magic, among others, is a performing art in which audiences are entertained by tricks, effects, or illusions of seemingly impossible feats, using natural means. It is to be distinguished from paranormal magic which are effects claimed to be created through supernatural means. It is one of the oldest performing arts in the world.
Justin Flom is an American YouTuber, social media personality, and illusionist. He gained recognition through his YouTube series along with his television show Wizard Wars in which he performs magic using everyday objects. Flom has also performed live, both independently and as an opening act for musical groups. He has been a part of notable projects such as the Band of Magicians.

Liang-Shun Lim, known professionally as Shin Lim, is a Canadian-American magician, recognized for his use of card manipulation and sleight of hand. He is known for elaborate close-up card magic routines, during which he remains silent with the tricks set to music. He is self-taught, having learned most of his skills from watching YouTube, and has in turn shared some of his own techniques in videos on the site.
On July 18, 2018, Mollie Cecilia Tibbetts, a 20-year-old University of Iowa student, disappeared while jogging near her home in Brooklyn, Iowa. A month later, police identified 24-year-old Cristhian Bahena Rivera as a suspect in connection with the disappearance; surveillance footage showed Rivera's car following Tibbetts on her jog. Rivera led police to the body of Tibbetts in a Poweshiek County cornfield on August 21. He was charged with first-degree murder. On May 28, 2021, Rivera was found guilty of first-degree murder. On August 30, 2021, Rivera was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
