Nation Transformation Party

The Nation Transformation Party (NTP) was a political party in Papua New Guinea.

It was established for the 2002 election by pastor Francis Apurel, who ran for the Southern Highlands Provincial seat vacated by dismissed Governor Anderson Agiru. [1] [2] The party repeatedly referred to the United Resources Party as their "sister party". [2] It won two seats at the election: David Anggo in Chuave Open and Kimson Kare in Wewak Open. [3] [4]

The party soon dissipated, with Anggo identified as an independent by December that year and Kare drifting to the People's National Congress. [5] [6] It was reported in February 2006 to have merged into the People's National Congress. [7]

He has variously been a member of the PNG Conservative Party (2007), National Alliance (2007–2010), United Resources Party (2010–2012) and Papua New Guinea Party (2012); although formally sitting in parliament as an independent during his second term, he has been prominently aligned with the People's United Assembly (2012–2014) and the People's National Congress (2014–present).

The Papua New Guinea Country Party is a political party in Papua New Guinea. It was founded in 1974.

Charlie Benjamin is a Papua New Guinean politician. He has been Governor of Manus Province since 2012, and was formerly the member for Manus Open in the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea from 1997 to 2007. He was Vice-Minister for Public Enterprises under Bill Skate (1998–1999) and Minister for Labour and Employment (2000–2001) and Minister for Lands and Physical Planning (2001–2002) under Mekere Morauta. As governor from 2012, he has featured prominently in issues relating to the Australian-run Manus Regional Processing Centre. Benjamin has variously been an independent (1997–1999) and a member of the Advance Papua New Guinea Party, People's Democratic Movement (2001) and People's National Congress (2003–present).

Paru Aihi is a former Papua New Guinean politician. He was a member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea from 2007 to 2012, representing the electorate of Kairuku-Hiri Open. He was Minister for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Research under Michael Somare from March to August 2011 and Minister for Education under Peter O'Neill from August to December 2012.

Akoka Doi is a Papua New Guinean politician. He was a member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea from 1977 to 1992, representing the electorate of Ijivitari Open.

Lauta Atoi is a Papua New Guinean politician and rugby league player. He was a People's National Congress member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea from 2011 to 2017, representing the electorate of North Bougainville Open. His name is sometimes spelled as Louta Atoi.

Roy Biyama Papua New Guinean politician. He has been a member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea since 2002, representing the electorate of Middle Fly Open, and has been a member of four parties: the Papua New Guinea Revival Party, the People's Action Party, the United Resources Party and the People's National Congress. He served as Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (2003-2004), Minister for Labour and Industrial Relations (2004-2006) and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister (2006-2007) in the Somare government. He has also been Governor of Western Province since February 2017.

Robert Sandan Ganim is a Papua New Guinean politician. He was a member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea from 2012 to 2017, representing the electorate of Wabag Open for the People's Party (2012-2017) and the People's National Congress (2017).

The Indigenous People's Party is a political party in Papua New Guinea.
