The National Athletic Basketball League (NABL) was a men's semi-professional basketball league featuring teams from the West Coast of the United States. The league was founded by Nathan Mumm and Joe Becerra. The NABL was an owner controlled league, which enabled the owners to vote on all aspects of the business. [1]
The 2010 NABL season saw six teams competing: Portland Showtime, Salem Stampede, Snohomish County Explosion, Seattle Aviators/Mountaineers, Tacoma Thunder and Tualatin Rainmakers. [2] On May 25, 2010, the Mountaineers withdrew from the NABL mid-season to join the ABA, citing "The NABL was not a good fit for our organization, and we need to go in another direction." [3] The 2010 NABL Finals were contested between the Portland Showtime and the Salem Stampede, with the Showtime winning the best-of-three series 2–0 to claim the inaugural championship.
League play was cancelled for the 2011 season, with exhibition games replacing the schedule as the league was being revised. [1]
In September 2011, a group of investors from the Portland area known as Productive Citizens Incorporated purchased the league from its founder Nathan Mumm. The 2012 NABL season was scheduled to begin in April with at least nine teams: Portland Showtime, Salem Stampede, Seattle Aviators, Snohomish Explosion, Tacoma Undertakers, Tualatin Black Barons and Washington Sabers. [4] [5] However, the 2012 season never went ahead, and the NABL ceased operations.

He played in the National Basketball Association for the Seattle SuperSonics / Oklahoma City Thunder from 2004 through 2009, for the Seattle Aviators and Snohomish County Explosion of the National Athletic Basketball League in 2010, and for the Tokyo Apache of the bj League in 2010–11. The International Basketball League (IBL) was a semi-professional men's basketball league featuring teams from the West Coast of the United States. In 2010 the Albany Legends became the first team in the Northeastern United States to join. The IBL also sometimes featured teams from China and Japan which temporarily relocated to the United States for the IBL season. The IBL season typically ran from the end of March through July.

The Snohomish County Explosion was a semi-professional basketball that last played in the National Athletic Basketball League (NABL) in 2010. The team was based in Everett, Washington in 2007 in Monroe, Washington from 2008 to 2010. The Explosion is owned by Courtyard Media Foundation, whose president Nathan Mumm oversaw team operations. The Explosion were the IBL's 2007 Western Division Champions.
The Tacoma Thunder were an International Basketball League team based in Tacoma, Washington. The Tacoma Jets were named the Tacoma Thunder for their first two campaigns, but were renamed in the off-season after an ownership change to the Jets. The Tacoma Thunder rejoined the National Athletic Basketball League in 2010 for the NABL's first season.
Historic ferries in Oregon are water transport ferries that operated in Oregon Country, Oregon Territory, and the state of Oregon, United States. These ferries allowed people to cross bodies of water, mainly rivers such as the Willamette in the Willamette Valley, and the Columbia, in order to transport goods, move people, and further communications until permanent bridges were built to allow faster crossing of the water. The early ferries were used by wagons and pedestrians, while later ones transported trains and then automobiles. Oregon has a few automobile ferries still in operation.
Nathan Mumm is a Snohomish County multi-business executive. Born in 1973, his success in both property management, and technology investments have allowed him the ability to venture in many local businesses. He is the current radio talk show host for TechTime Radio with Nathan Mumm. He was the original owner of the Snohomish County Explosion that played in the National Athletic Basketball League and International Basketball League. He is currently the President of Courtyard Media Foundation, a non-profit foundation in Snohomish County. Mumm is known as a key leader in Snohomish County regarding business and entertainment. He was the founder of the National Athletic Basketball League and was the commissioner and compliance director. Growing up in the town of Marysville he graduated from Marysville Pilchuck High School in 1992. He currently lives in the town of Snohomish, Washington.
The Pacific Coast Professional Basketball League was a professional basketball league with teams from the Pacific Northwest in the United States and Canada. The league existed for two seasons, 1946-47 and 1947-48.
Darren Sawatzky is an American soccer coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the Richmond Kickers in USL League One. He spent four seasons in Major League Soccer, one season in the Major Indoor Soccer League, one in USISL and five in the United Soccer Leagues. He currently holds several coaching positions at the high school, collegiate and professional levels and was the Director of Youth Development for Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer. The SuperSonics played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member club of the league's Western Conference Pacific and Northwest divisions from 1967 until 2008. The 2012 USL Premier Development League season was the 18th season of the PDL. The regular season began on 22 April with a match between the Los Angeles Misioneros and Fresno Fuego, and ended with 14 matches on 15 July 2012. The regular season was followed by a postseason tournament of conference winners which determined the league's champion, Forest City London. Thirteen teams were added to the league and 4 teams dropped, bringing the total number of teams in the league to 73 for 2012.
