The Banshees of Inisherin is a 2022 black tragicomedy horror film directed, written, and co-produced by Martin McDonagh. Set on a remote fictional island off the west coast of Ireland in 1923, the film stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson as two lifelong friends who find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship, with severe consequences for both of them; Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan co-star. It reunites Farrell and Gleeson after McDonagh's directorial debut In Bruges (2008).

<i>All the Beauty and the Bloodshed</i> 2022 American film

All the Beauty and the Bloodshed is a 2022 American biographical documentary film about photographer, artist, and activist Nan Goldin. The film is produced, co-edited and directed by Laura Poitras, and tackles Goldin's life through her advocacy during the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 80's, and her fight against the Sackler family for their role in the current opioid epidemic in the United States. Poitras, a long-time friend and fan, stated that "Nan's art and vision has inspired my work for years, and has influenced generations of filmmakers."

The 88th New York Film Critics Circle Awards, honoring the best in film for 2022, were announced on December 2, 2022.

The 43rd Boston Society of Film Critics Awards, honoring the best in filmmaking in 2022, were given on December 11, 2022.

<i>The Banshees of Inisherin</i> (soundtrack) 2022 film score by Carter Burwell

The Banshees of Inisherin (Original Score) is the score album consisting of the original score composed by Carter Burwell for the 2022 film of the same name directed by Martin McDonagh. It was released on 21 October 2022 by Hollywood Records. The album was announced with a three-track sampler debuted on the Deadline Hollywood magazine. Burwell experimented the score with approaching Colin Farrell's character through "the child-like" and "Disney character"-based music as well as fiddle-themed compositions for Brendan Gleeson's character, and non-Irish music, despite the setting in 20th century Ireland. The score received a nomination for Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score in a Feature Film, as well as Satellite Award and Golden Globe Award nomination in the "Best Original Score" category.

The 43rd London Film Critics' Circle Awards honoured the best in film of 2022, as chosen by the London Film Critics' Circle. All films released in a UK cinema or to premiere via streaming service between February 2022 and February 2023 were all eligible to be nominated. The ceremony was held on 5 February 2023 at The May Fair Hotel in London. The nominations were announced on 21 December 2022 by actors Ellie Bamber and Fionn O'Shea, while British comedian and actor Anna Leong Brophy hosted the ceremony. The Banshees of Inisherin received the most nominations with nine, followed by Aftersun with eight.

The 57th National Society of Film Critics Awards, given on 7 January 2023, honored the best in film for 2022.

The 19th Irish Film & Television Academy Awards, also called the IFTA Film & Drama Awards 2023 or the 20th Anniversary IFTA Awards, took place on 7 May 2023 and was hosted by Deirdre O'Kane in the new Dublin Royal Convention Centre, situated on Ship Street, close to Dublin Castle. It honoured Irish films and television drama released between 1 January 2022 and 11 March 2023. The nominations were announced on 6 March 2023.
