National Institute of Mass Communication is a state owned educational institute that specializes in mass communication and journalism in Bangladesh. [1] [2] Its headquarters are located at A, A. W. Chowdhury Road, Darus Salam Thana, Dhaka. Md Rafiquzzaman is the incumbent Director General of the Institute. [3]

History

National Institute of Mass Communication was established in 1980 as the National Broadcasting Academy. In 1984, according to the recommendation of the Martial Law Committee, of the regime of General Hussain Mohammad Ershad, the National Broadcasting Academy was renamed to National Institute of Mass Communication. Aside from providing courses related to communication the institute also carries out research into mass media. It is under the Ministry of Information. [4]

The Ministry of Information is a branch of the Government of Bangladesh is the apex body for formulation and administration of the rules and regulations and laws relating to information, broadcasting, the press and films in Bangladesh. It is responsible to release government information, media galleries, public domain and government unclassified non-scientific data to the public and international communities.

Abdullah al Mamun Bangladeshi writer, actor and filmmaker

Abdullah Al Mamun was a Bangladeshi playwright, actor, and filmmaker. He earned the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1978 and the Ekushey Padak in 2000 from the Government of Bangladesh. Islamic University, Bangladesh Bangladeshi university

Islamic University, Bangladesh, commonly known as Islamic University, Kushtia, is a major public research and PhD granting universities in Bangladesh and the largest seat of higher education in the south-west part of the country. Initially, it was funded by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and now it is financed by the Government of Bangladesh through University Grants Commission, Bangladesh. It is also responsible for the interception of electronic communication such as phone calls, emails, and social media accounts.
