Each year Naugatuck River Review hosts a Narrative Poetry Prize. [1] NRR subscribes to the ethical code for contests laid out by the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses. [1] The judge for the 2012 prize is Pamela Uschuk. Past judges have included Patricia Smith, Patrick Donnelly, and Lesléa Newman. [2] [3]

Asian American Writers Workshop

The Asian American Writers' Workshop is a nonprofit literary arts organization founded in 1991 to support Asian American writers, literature and community. Realuyo created AAWW because they were searching for New York City community of writers of color who could provide support for new writers.

Susan Deer Cloud, a mixed lineage Catskill Native, is a writer of poetry, fiction, and creative essays.

Gulf Coast: A Journal of Literature and Fine Arts is a literary magazine from Houston, Texas. Founded in 1986 by Donald Barthelme and Phillip Lopate, Gulf Coast was envisioned as an intersection between the literary and visual arts communities. As a result, Gulf Coast has partnered with the University of Houston's Creative Writing Program, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Menil Collection to showcase some of the most important literary and artistic talents in the United States. Faculty editors past and present include Mark Doty (1999–2005), Claudia Rankine, (2006) and Nick Flynn (2007–present). The magazine publishes poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.

Texas State University MFA

The Texas State University MFA Program at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, is a three-year graduate-level creative writing program in the United States. Fiction writer Doug Dorst is currently the director of the program. The faculty includes many award-winning writers.

Pamela Uschuk is an American poet, and 2011 Visiting Poet at University of Tennessee. She won a 2010 American Book Award, for Crazy Love: New Poems.

Jerry Bradley (poet)

Jerry W. Bradley is an American poet and university professor.

CantoMundo is an American literary organization founded in 2009 to support Latino poets and poetry. It hosts an annual poetry workshop dedicated to the creation, documentation, and critical analysis of Latinx poetry.

New Ohio Review is a national literary magazine produced by the creative writing program of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Published biannually since 2007, the magazine showcases short fiction, poetry, and essays. Writers published by New Ohio Review have included Tony Hoagland, Robert Pinsky, Rosanna Warren, and Rachel Zucker, among others. Pieces Appearing in New Ohio Review have been included in such anthologies as The Best American Series and the Pushcart Prize anthology. The journal is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant.
