Malik Nauman Ahmad Langrial is a Pakistani politician who was a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from August 2018 till May 2022.
Previously he was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013 and a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 2002 to 2007.
He was born on 25 June 1960 in Lahore. [1]
He graduated in 1989 and has a degree of Bachelor of Arts. [1]
He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from Constituency PP-226 (Sahiwal-VII) as a candidate of the National Alliance in 2002 Pakistani general election. He received 33,693 votes and defeated Mian Asad Masood,a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). [2]
He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan from Constituency NA-163 (Sahiwal-IV) as a candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q) in 2008 Pakistani general election. [3] [4] [5] He received 39,864 votes and defeated Begum Shahnaz Javed,a candidate of PPP. [6]
He ran for the seat of the National Assembly from Constituency NA-163 (Sahiwal-IV) as a candidate of PML (Q) in the 2013 Pakistani general election but was unsuccessful. [7] He received 67,076 votes and lost the seat to Muhammad Munir Azhar. [8]
He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as a candidate of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from PP-202 Sahiwal-VII in 2018 Pakistani general election. [9]
On 27 August 2018,he was inducted into the provincial Punjab cabinet of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar without any ministerial portfolio. [10] On 29 August 2018,he was appointed as Provincial Minister of Punjab for Agriculture. [11]
In March,2021 Langrial became a part of a dissenting group from the PTI called the Jahangir Tareen group. The Jahangir Tareen group was made after Tareen,a close friend of Imran Khan and core member of the PTI,was investigated for corruption during his own government. [12] In April 2,2022 Langrial joined forward block against his own party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and supported opposition's candidate Hamza Shahbaz. [13] [14] Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi,the Speaker,sent a reference against the dissenting MPAs,including Langrial,for defecting from their party's policy. [15]
He was de-seated due to this vote against party policy on 16 April 2022. [16] He ran in the resulting by-election for PP-202 Sahiwal-VII as a candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML(N)),but was unsuccessful. He received 59,191 votes and was defeated by Muhammad Ghulam Sarwar,a candidate of the PTI.
On 13 September 2022,he was inducted into Shehbaz Sharif Cabinet as SAPM. [17]
On 8 June 2023,Langrial joined Istehkam-e-Pakistan,a new political party. [18]
Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar is a Pakistani politician who recently served as Pakistan's Federal Minister for Industries &Production. Previously,he has served as Federal Minister of Economic Affairs,Federal Minister of National Food Security and Research and Federal Minister for Planning,Development and Reforms in the PTI Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2002 to 2008,2013 to 2018 and 2018 till 2023.
General elections were held in Pakistan on 25 July 2018 to elect the members of the 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties were Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),led by Imran Khan,the Pakistan Muslim League,led by Shehbaz Sharif,and the Pakistan People's Party,led by Bilawal Bhutto. The PTI won the most seats in the National Assembly but fell short of a majority;the party subsequently formed a coalition government with several smaller parties. At the provincial level,the PTI remained the largest party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP);the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) retained its dominance in Sindh;and the newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) emerged as the largest party in Balochistan. In Punjab,the result was a hung parliament,with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) winning the most seats. However,after several independent MPAs joined the PTI,the latter became the largest party and was able to form a government.

Later in a statement to the media,he said that he had no intentions of joining politics again and that he would focus on the welfare work done through the Abdul Aleem Khan Foundation but soon after the economic crisis and instability in Pakistan,he decided to join politics again and launched the political party along with renowned politician Jahangir Khan Tareen named the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party in June 2023. He is a founding member and president of the party.

The constitutional crisis in Pakistan's Punjab province began on 28 March 2022,when Usman Buzdar tendered his resignation as Chief Minister at the request of Prime Minister Imran Khan and nominated former Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to replace him. On 1 April 2022,his resignation was accepted by then Governor of Punjab,Chaudary Mohammed Sarwar.
By-elections were held in Punjab,Pakistan on 17 July 2022 to elect 20 members of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won a landslide victory on 15 of those 20 seats,leading to the collapse of Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz's PML(N)-led coalition government,as it became 7 seats short of a majority.
