Navarasan (born 26 November 1985) is an Indian Kannada film director, actor, producer and screenwriter. He is best known for the 2019 film Damayanthi . [1]

Early life

Navarasan was born on 26 November 1985 in Kolar Gold fields. He was born to a farmer family, and completed his schooling in Santhosh High school Bangarpet. His childhood was mostly spent in helping out his father in agriculture.

Career

Navarasan is mainly known for his works in horror and thriller movies. He was trained for action and direction at Koothupattarai Institute in Chennai.[ citation needed ]

In the year 2014, Navarasan made his debut as an actor in a tamil movie Nee en uyire directed by Vikas Lathiraj. [2] [3]

His work in the Kannada film industry began as both producer and actor in a horror movie Raakshasi which was released in the year 2015. Navasaran played a lead role in this film along with Sindhu Lokanath. [4] [5] [6]

While he gained experience in various departments of the film industry he decided to test his direction skills with the film Vaira . [7] [8] The good feedback he received for Vaira gave him the confidence to come up with the big budget film Damayanthi . [9] The movie was released in many languages including: Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi as Damayanthi and Samharini in Telugu. [10] Kannada actress Radhika Kumaraswamy acted as a lead in this film. [11] Damayanthi gave Navarasan his big break in the Indian film industry as a director.

Damayanthi is a 2019 Kannada mythological comedy horror film written and directed by Navarasan. The film is also being dubbed into Tamil and Malayalam with the same title and in Telugu language as Samharini. The film is produced by Sri Lakshmi Vrushadhri Productions and is touted to be a mythological horror-comedy. The horror-comedy thriller set in the 80s, has Radhika, who features in three shades. The film has G. K. Reddy, in a pivotal role, along with Saurav Lokesh, Anusha Ravi, Raj Bahadhur, Sadhu Kokila, and Tabla Nani as part of the cast. The movie was reported to be inspired by the 2017 Telugu movie Anando Brahma and released two weeks after the release of the official kannada remake of the Telugu movie "Anando Brahma" which is Mane Maratakkide.

<i>Oppanda</i> 2022 Indian Kannada romantic-crime-action film

Oppanda (transl. Deal) is a 2022 Indian Kannada-language crime action film written and directed by S.S.Sameer, making his debut. It features Arjun Sarja and Radhika Kumaraswamy along with J.D.Chakravarthy in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Sony Charista and Bollywood actor Faisal Khan, making his Kannada debut. The score and soundtrack for the film is by Subhash Anand and the cinematography is by Amma Rajashekhar and the editing is done by Prabhu. The film was planned to be simultaneously released in Tamil as Iruvar Oppantham and in Telugu as Iddaru.
