Nela Riehl (born 11 September 1985) is a German politician and teacher who was one of Volt Germany's lead candidates for the European Parliament in the 2024 elections. [1] [2]
Riehl resides in Hamburg and is of Ghanaian decent. [1] She is the only black candidate in Germany for the elections. [3]
Until a week before the election she was still working at a secondary school in Hamburg. [3] Her top issues have been promoting diversity and aiming for net-zero emissions. [2] [4]
