Nelavala Subrahmanyam is an Indian politician. He was a Member of Parliament in 11th Lok Sabha. He was elected from Tirupathi parliamentary constituency with 52,332 votes.

Career

Subrahmanyam started his career as President of Gram panchayat "Bheemavaram" in Naidupet mandal of Nellore district. He then worked as manager in Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank for few years. He was MP from Tirupathi [1] in 1996. In 2004 he won the seat for Sullurpet constituency as an MLA from Congress party. He was a member of TTD Trustees for two terms. [2]

Personal life

Subrahmanyam is married and has one daughter and two sons.

The Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple is a Hindu temple situated in the hill town of Tirumala at Tirupati in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The Temple is dedicated to Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared on the earth to save mankind from trials and troubles of Kali Yuga. Hence the place has also got the name Kaliyuga Vaikuntha and the deity here is referred to as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam. The temple is also known by other names like Tirumala Temple, Tirupati Temple and Tirupati Balaji Temple. Venkateswara is known by many other names: Balaji, Govinda, and Srinivasa. Jatavallabhula Purushottam was an Indian poet, author and activist who was the first president of Vishva Hindu Parishad in Andhra Pradesh. Purushottam was born at a village in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. He was an orator and wrote poetry in Telugu and Sanskrit. Selected verses of his book Chitrasatakam are a part of the syllabus for 11th class students in Andhra Pradesh. Some of his books, e.g. Hindumatam, Dharma Manjari etc., were published by Tirumala Tirupathi Devstanam.

Rallapalli Ananta Krishna Sharma was a noted composer of Carnatic music, singer, Telugu litterateur, teacher and Sanskrit scholar. He was responsible for discovering, cataloguing and putting to music many forgotten compositions of Annamacharya. These compositions composed hundreds of years ago came back to life thanks to Sharma's efforts and successive singers like S. P. Balasubramanyam and M. S. Subbalakshmi would sing many of them, hence popularising them. Sharma authored prose works like Vemana, Natakopanyasamulu,Ganakale,Sahitya Mattu Jeevana Kale and Saraswatalokamu. Rallapalli Ananta Krishna Sharma translated 395 Gathas from original Prakrit into Telugu language titled Shalivahana Gatha Sapta Saramu in 1931. Sharma is the recipient of Central Sangeet & Natak Academy Fellowship (1973), Gana Kala Sindhu (1961), Gana Kala Prapoorna (1969), Sangeeta Kala Ratna (1974) and Sangeeta Sahitya Asthan Vidwan honours with a Honorary Doctorate from TTD University, Andhra Pradesh.

Malyadri Sriram is an Indian politician and a former member of parliament from Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh. He won the 2014 Indian general election being a Telugu Desam Party candidate. He has an M.A. in Economics from Sri Venkateshwara University in Tirupathi. He was previously an officer with the Indian Revenue Service. He was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha. In the Lok Sabha he was a member of the Standing Committee on Energy and the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Finance and Corporate Affairs.

Hikkal is a hill in Urdigere Taluk, Tumkur District, and Karnataka State, India. It is approximately 16 km from the district's main city of Tumkur, and 70 km away from the capital city Bangalore. The hill houses a temple of Lord Srinivasa in the form of a stone resembling a ripped ant hill; Idols of goddesses Sridevi and Bhudevi are also present. The nearby village is named after the hill Hikkal and the deity Srinivasa is called Hikkallappa. There is also an idol of Balaji, which was installed in 1999. It was presented by the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) of Andhra Pradesh which has recognised this temple as one of the 108 sub-shrines of the original deity at Tirumala.

Kimidi Kalavenkata Rao is an Indian politician and Telugu Desam Party leader. He was appointed President of the Andhra Pradesh Division of the Telugu Desam Party after the partition of Andhra Pradesh.
