Route 18 is a 42.8-mile-long (68.9 km) state highway in the US state of New Jersey. It begins at an intersection with Route 138 in Wall Township and ends at Interstate 287 (I-287) in Piscataway. Much of the route is a limited-access freeway, including the entire portion in Monmouth County and much of the northern end through New Brunswick and Piscataway. The remainder of the route is a multi-lane divided highway. Route 18 was designated in 1939 as a proposed freeway from Old Bridge to Eatontown. The section west of Old Bridge was formerly designated as part Route S28, a prefixed spur of State Highway Route 28 from Middlesex to Matawan. The designation, assigned in the 1927 renumbering, remained until a second renumbering in 1953. At that point, Route S28 was redesignated as Route 18, though the section from Old Bridge to Matawan was signed as TEMP 18, as this section would be decommissioned when the Route 18 freeway was built.

Route 785 is a 68.8-kilometre (42.8 mi) long mostly north–south secondary highway in the southwestern portion of New Brunswick, Canada. Locally, this road may be known as either the "Shin Crick Road" or the "Mine Road". In the early 1980s, a mine was established off Route 785, at Mount Pleasant. Today, Adex Mining holds a mineral claim on the mine however the mine is currently in an idle state. As a result of mine development at Mount Pleasant, Route 785 was heavily developed and rerouted from the original stage coach trail. Another name for the road is the "Sheldon Lee Highway", a satirical reference to former New Brunswick Minister of Transportation, Hon. Sheldon Lee, who continued developed the road during his terms in office, especially on the portion of road north of Mount Pleasant. Mr. Lee lived in the community of Bonny River, which is located near the southern end of Route 785, and like many people today, frequently used Route 785 for travel to Fredericton from the St. George area, roughly shaving off 40km per trip when compared to highway travel. Today, the road is heavily used by forest operations.
The Becaguimec Stream is a minor tributary of the Saint John River in the Canadian Province of New Brunswick. It rises in the hilly woods along the county line dividing Carleton County, Canada from York County, Canada in the western region of the province. Its watershed is adjacent to the South Branch of the Southwest Miramichi River, the Nashwaak River, the Keswick River and the Nackawic Stream.
