The Nevada State Department of Administration is a department of the Nevada state government tasked to manage and support internal operations of the Nevada state agencies. In addition to providing administrative support for the agencies, the department also oversees the Nevada State Library, Archives, and Public Records and administrative hearings and appeals. [1] [2] The department is headquartered in Carson City, Nevada. [3]

Divisions

The Department of Administration has twelve divisions [3]:

  1. Administrative Services: Offers fiscal and administrative support to all divisions in the Department of Administration as well as other state agencies, offices, boards, and commissions.
  2. Enterprise IT Services: Offers IT services and support to other Nevada state agencies.
  3. Fleet Services: Provides transportation solutions to Nevada state employees.
  4. Office of Grant Procurement, Coordination, and Management: Manages the state's performance in the federal, corporate, and private grant areas.
  5. Hearings: Manages dispute resolution hearings.
  6. Human Resources Management: Focuses on providing human resource services for employees of the state.
  7. Mail Services: Manages mail services for local and state governments in the Carson City, Reno, and Las Vegas areas.
  8. Nevada Deferred Compensation: Manages the Nevada Deferred Compensation Program for state and local government employees.
  9. Purchasing: Manages procurement processes on behalf of the State of Nevada.
  10. Risk Management: Preserves and protects state employees and properties.
  11. Nevada State Library, Archives, and Public Records: Manages the library, archives, and records management programs.
  12. State Public Works: Manages and implements state capital improvements and state facilities.

The department's services to other state agencies and offices include personnel management, payroll, accounting systems, technology solutions, and legal services. The Department is central to the state budget process, advising the Governor and state agencies on their budget submissions and analyzing solutions to fiscal problems. The Department also administers state information systems, procurement policies and contracts, fleet transportation, and risk management, and oversees buildings owned and leased by the state, facilities planning projects, and the Wisconsin Capitol Police.

Mark Amodei U.S. Representative from Nevada

Mark Eugene Amodei is an American lawyer and politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Nevada's 2nd congressional district since 2011. The only Republican in Nevada's congressional delegation, he served in the Nevada Assembly from 1997 to 1999 and in the Nevada Senate, representing the Capital District, from 1999 to 2011. Amodei chaired the Nevada Republican Party from 2010 until 2011, when he stepped down in order to pursue the nomination for a special election for Congress; he was the Republican nominee in the election held on September 13, 2011, to replace Dean Heller, who had been appointed to the United States Senate. He became the dean of Nevada's congressional delegation once Heller lost his election for a second full term in 2019, although Dina Titus served one term in the House before he was first elected.

The Oklahoma Department of Labor (ODOL) is an agency of the government of Oklahoma that is headed by the Oklahoma Labor Commissioner, a statewide elected position. ODOL is responsible for supervising the administration of all state laws relating to labor and workplace safety and gathers and publishes information about the workforce of Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Department of Central Services

The Oklahoma Department of Central Services (DCS) was an agency of the government of Oklahoma which was dissolved in 2011. DCS was responsible for providing services to help manage and support the basic functioning of all state agencies. DCS provides government-wide purchasing, supplying, operation, and maintenance of state property, buildings, and equipment, and for the sale of surplus items. DCS also manages the state motor vehicle fleet and provides government-wide risk management, printing and distribution, and strategic financial and administrative support.

Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles(DMV) is a Nevada state agency responsible for issuing driver licenses and vehicle registration. The DMV operates a total of 20 offices across the state, with five in Las Vegas, two in Reno, and one each in Henderson, Sparks, Carson City, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Hawthorne, Laughlin, Mesquite, Pahrump, Tonopah, Winnemucca, and Yerington. The DMV is headed by a director, and the position is currently occupied by Julie Butler. It is based in Carson City, Nevada's capital.

California Government Operations Agency

The Government Operations Agency (CalGovOps) is the California government agency responsible for administering state operations including procurement, real estate, information technology, and human resources. Marybel Batjer was appointed as the inaugural agency secretary in June 2013 by then-Governor Jerry Brown. On July 12, 2019, Governor Gavin Newsom tapped Batjer to be the president of the California Public Utilities Commission. Batjer is expected to depart CalGovOps in late July/early August.

Nevada State Library Archives and Public Records Official State Library of Nevada

The Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records (NSLAPR) is the official State Library and State Archives for Nevada located in Carson City, Nevada. It is also combined with the Records Services department which manages public records in the State of Nevada for state agencies and local governments. The library manages many programs for public libraries including public library certification and standards, LSTA grants, bookmobile funding and training for library trustees. They oversee Nevada Talking Book Services for print-disabled users, Nevada Center for the Book, and the Nevada State Data Center to help localities work with census data.
