Never Let Go is an upcoming American survival horror film directed by Alexandre Aja and written by Kevin Coughlin and Ryan Grassby. The film stars Halle Berry, Percy Daggs IV, Anthony B. Jenkins, Matthew Kevin Anderson, Christin Park, and Stephanie Lavigne.

Premise

A family consisting of a mother and her twin sons has suffered from the torment of a malicious spirit for many years. However, when one of the boys starts to doubt the existence of the evil, the family's sacred bond is broken, leading to a dangerous fight for survival. [1]

Development

In August 2020, Kevin Coughlin and Ryan Grassby's horror script Mother Land was acquired by Shawn Levy's company 21 Laps Entertainment with Lionsgate Films set to distribute. [2] In April 2021, Mark Romanek was hired to direct the film. [3] The following month, it was announced that Romanek left the project and Alexandre Aja was set to direct with Halle Berry joining the cast. [1] In June 2022, Lionsgate sold the international rights to multiple companies during the Cannes Film Festival. [4] In April 2023, Percy Daggs IV and Anthony B. Jenkins joined the cast of the now titled film, Never Let Go. [5] In May 2024, it was revealed that Matthew Kevin Anderson, Christin Park, and Stephanie Lavigne were added to the cast. [6]

Filming

Principal photography took place in Vancouver, British Columbia from April 17 to June 2, 2023. [7] [8]

Release

Never Let Go is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 27, 2024, replacing Saw XI . [9]
