The New England Indoor Championships [1] was a men's and women's tennis tournament founded in 1932. [2] Also known in its early years as the New England Covered Court Championships, it was first organised by the New England Lawn Tennis Association and played at the Longwood Covered Courts, Longwood Cricket Club, Longwood, Massachusetts, United States and plaued on wood courts then later switching to carpet courts. The event was held in different locations until 1973 as part of the ILTF Independent Circuit when it was discontinued. [2]
The tournament was founded in 1932. [2] The championships were organised by the New England Lawn Tennis Association (f.1927). [3] The tournament was usually played in February for men and sometimes in March annually for women until the early 1950s it was played at the Longwood Covered Courts, [4] at the Longwood Cricket Club, Longwood, Massachusetts, United States. [2]
The men's tournament continued to be held in February and moved location to Westport, Massachusetts till 1966, [2] the women's event continued be held in March and moved location to Salem, Massachusetts until 1968. [2] The men's championships were also staged in Randolph, Massachusetts and finally Pembroke, Massachusetts. The women's event also moved location again this time to Agawam, Massachusetts. In 1973 it was downgraded from the worldwide ILTF independent circuit becoming a USTA circuit event only.

The Belgian Open was a women's tennis tournament founded in 1899 as a combined men's and women's clay court tennis tournament.
The U.S. Professional Indoor Championships, also known as U.S. Pro Indoor, was a professional tennis tournament founded in 1962 as the Philadelphia Invitational Indoor Tennis Championships. The tournament was held in Philadelphia, United States from 1962 to 1998. It played on indoor carpet courts, and indoor hard courts. It was part of the ILTF World Circuit from 1962 to 1967 and again in 1970, the World Championship Tennis (WCT) circuit in 1968, 1969 and from 1971 to 1977 and the Grand Prix Tour from 1978 to 1989 before being held on the ATP Tour. It was held annually first at the Spectrum, and then at the CoreStates Center. It was originally named the Philadelphia Indoor Open Tournament prior to the open era.
The Phoenix Thunderbird Open was a combined men's and women's tennis tournament founded in 1952 as Phoenix Thunderbird Championships Invitational. Also known as the Phoenix Thunderbird Invitational it continued as a joint event until 1970 when the men's event was discontinued. In 1971 the women's tournament was re branded as the Virginia Slims Thunderbird Classic that event continued until 1980.

The South Florida Open Championships also known as the South Florida Championships or South Florida Open was an international men's and women's clay court tennis tournament founded in 1922. The tournament was first played in Miami, Florida, United States. From 1946 this tournament also carried the joint denomination of West Palm Beach Open. The tournament was played at other locations until 1977 when it was discontinued as part of the ILTF Independent Tour.
The Florida State Open Championships also known as the Florida State Championships or Florida Open was an open international men's and women's clay court tennis tournament founded in 1910 as the Winter Championships of Florida. It was first organised by the Palm Beach Tennis Club and first played on clay courts adjacent to the Royal Poinciana Hotel, Palm Beach Florida, United States. The international tournament was played at other locations throughout its run until September 1972 when it was discontinued as part of the ILTF Independent Tour.
