Christopher Michael Kelly is an American entrepreneur, attorney, and activist. From September 2005 to August 2009, he served as Chief Privacy Officer, first General Counsel, and Head of Global Public Policy at Facebook. As an early leader at Facebook, he helped shape it into one of the most successful businesses in history. In 2010, Kelly was a candidate in the Democratic primary for California Attorney General. Since his departure from Facebook and campaign for Attorney General, he has become an investor in films, restaurants, and technology start-ups. Kelly became a co-owner of the NBA's Sacramento Kings in May 2013.
Theresa Amato is a US public advocate and political activist. Founder and first president of the Citizen Advocacy Center which builds democracy for the 21st century, she currently serves as executive director of Citizen Works, an organization devoted to rebalancing the power between corporations and citizens. She is also the Director of its Fair Contracts Project. Amato is a manager of Amato & Main, LLC, through which she advises nonprofits, foundations, and progressive candidates seeking office.
The David Bohnett Foundation is a global private foundation that gives grants to organizations that focus on its core giving areas – primarily Los Angeles area programs and LGBT rights in the United States, as well as leadership initiatives and voter education, gun violence prevention, and animal language research. As of 2021, the foundation has donated over $120 million to nonprofit organizations and initiatives.
Richard Anthony Fowler is an American radio show host, media personality, and a liberal political activist. Fowler is the host of the nationally syndicated liberal talk radio program, The Richard Fowler Show. As of 2016, he is serving as a Fox News contributor.
The Illinois Fair Tax was a proposed amendment to the Illinois state constitution that would have effectively changed the state income tax system from a flat tax to a graduated income tax. The proposal, formally titled the "Allow for Graduated Income Tax Amendment", appeared on the ballot in the November 3, 2020 election in Illinois as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment striking language from the Constitution of Illinois requiring a flat state income tax. Concurrent with the proposed constitutional amendment, the Illinois legislature passed legislation setting a new set of graduated income tax rates that would have taken effect had the amendment been approved by voters.
Ted Gonder is an American entrepreneur and the co-founding CEO of Moneythink, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building the financial capability of young adults through technology-enhanced peer mentorship. Until July 2015, he was also a member of the U.S. President's Advisory Council on Financial Capability for Young Americans.
Innovation Illinois is a progressive 501(c)(4) non-profit advocacy group formed in April 2015 by leading Illinois liberals and former aides to ex-Illinois governor Pat Quinn to offset the influence of Governor Bruce Rauner, who defeated Quinn in the 2014 election. According to its website, Innovation Illinois is "dedicated to advancing well-researched, progressive policies that support economic growth and equal opportunity in the State of Illinois." A profile of an Innovation Illinois founder said the group "inevitably will be seen as a counterforce to the right-of-center Illinois Policy Institute."
Rebecca A. Hare Cokley is an American disability rights activist and public speaker who is currently the first U.S. Disability Rights Program Officer for the Ford Foundation. Prior to joining Ford, Cokley was the founding director of the Disability Justice Initiative at the Center for American Progress. During the Obama Administration, Cokley served as the executive director of the National Council on Disability.
Jessica Ramos is an American politician from the state of New York. A member of the Democratic Party, she is a member of the New York State Senate representing District 13, which includes the Queens neighborhoods of Corona, East Elmhurst, Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and parts of Astoria and Woodside.
Alessandra Rose Biaggi is an American politician serving as a member of the New York State Senate since 2019, representing the 34th district, which includes portions of Bronx and Westchester Counties. She is the chair of the New York State Senate Committee on Ethics and Internal Governance. She is the granddaughter of former U.S. Congressman Mario Biaggi.
Elizabeth Glidden is a lawyer, public policy professional, adjunct faculty at Humphrey School of Public Affairs in Minnesota, and former member of the Minneapolis City Council. She is the Director of Public Policy and Strategic Initiatives for the Minnesota Housing Partnership, "working on housing policy at the federal, state, and local levels."
The Progressive Reform Caucus of the Chicago City Council is a bloc of aldermen in the Chicago City Council that was formed in 2013. Its stated mission statement is "creating a more just and equal Chicago, combating all forms of discrimination, and advancing public policies that offer genuine opportunity to all Chicagoans, especially those who have been left out of our society’s prosperity." It currently has 18 members, out of the council's 50 aldermen.
The 2022 United States House of Representatives elections in New York will be held on November 8, 2022, to elect the 26 U.S. representatives from the State of New York, one from each of the state's 26 congressional districts. The elections will coincide with elections for Governor, U.S. Senate, Attorney General, Comptroller, state senate and assembly, and various other state and local elections.
The 2022 United States House of Representatives elections in North Carolina will be held on November 8, 2022, to elect the 14 U.S. representatives from the state of North Carolina, one from each of the state's 14 congressional districts. The elections will coincide with other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections. Primary elections are scheduled for May 17, 2022.
Nida Allam is an American politician, political activist, and data analyst. She currently serves on the Durham County Board of Commissioners, to which she was elected in 2020, making her the first Muslim woman to serve in public office in North Carolina. Allam is one of five women to serve on the Durham County Board of Commissioners; this is the first time the board has consisted entirely of women in its 139-year history.
