New Mexico Lobos women's cross country

The women's cross-country team at the University of New Mexico, known as the New Mexico Lobos, won the NCAA championship in 2015 and 2017. Also in 2017, Lobo Ednah Kurgat won the individual title with a record-setting time of 19:19.42. The team placed second nationally in 2018.

2015 season

The team started the preseason at second place in the USTFCCCA poll. It started the regular season at the No. 1 spot in the poll.

Senior Courtney Frerichs was named Mountain West Conference athlete of the week.

The team won the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational. They won their eight-straight conference title. UNM hosted the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships, where the Lobo women placed second.

The team won the national title. According to golobos.com, "The Lobo women, competing in their 10th-ever NCAA Championship, placed all five of their scorers in the top 25 at E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park in Louisville and combined to score 49 points, the lowest team score by any team since 1982." The team had "an 80-point victory over runner-up Colorado." Courtney Frerichs placed fourth overall, with a time of 19 minutes, 48 seconds, over 6 kilometers.

Three Lobo women were chosen to compete at the 2015 SPAR European Cross Country Championships.

2016 season

On Oct. 28, 2016, the Lobos won their ninth-straight Mountain West Conference title. Their score was 42 points. The second-place team, Air Force Academy, scored 53. Alice Wright won in 20 minutes, 2.7 seconds over 6 kilometers. [1]

They were champions of the Mountain West tournament, their third consecutive conference tournament championship, to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the second round to Stanford.

In 2021, she became the first American woman to run under nine-minutes in a women’s 3000-meters steeplechase event with a time of 8:57.77; establishing an American and Area record. She is a two-time Olympian making the US team in 2016 and 2020. In both of her Olympic Trials she finished second to US National Champion, Emma Coburn.

The 1958 New Mexico Lobos football team represented the University of New Mexico in the Skyline Conference during the 1958 NCAA University Division football season. In their first season under head coach Marv Levy, the Lobos compiled a 7–3 record, finished second in the conference, and outscored all opponents by a total of 210 to 185.

The 2021–22 Colorado State Rams women's basketball team represents Colorado State University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Rams, led by tenth year head coach Ryun Williams, play their home games at Moby Arena, and are members of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 21–12, 9–9 in Mountain West play to finish in 6th place in the conference. The Rams advanced to the championship game of the Mountain West women's basketball tournament, beating 11 seed San Jose State, and upsetting 3 seed Wyoming and 2 seed New Mexico, before falling short to 1 seed UNLV 75–65 in the championship. The Rams earned an invite to the 2022 WNIT, where they fell to Portland in the 1st round, 72–63.
